Tim Drake? A suspect? I'm sorry, Hector, but is that a hunch for hunch sake, or do you have any clues? Because, really, absolutely nothing throughout the run points to him. Or is that another suspect to add to the infamous list of Catwoman, Hugo Strange and King Tut?
I just read the new issue, and the schizophrenia pattern continues to run rampart. Monsieur LeBossu is clearly a Dr.Jeckyl/Mr.Hyde shtick, instead of a Quasimodo type. He appears at the end of the issue in his human form inviting the Joker to the Danse Macabre. On page 3, when he claims to have killed someone, Dr.Hurt promptly replies he changed the medical files of the deadman to include a (guess what) paranoid schizophrenia history.
Right after the Dr.Hurt/Club of Villains double-spread, we see a loony costumed villain in Gotham screaming "Stupid Cheap Mask! Leave'em crazy clues they'll never work out!". Morrison addressing the reader about Dr.Hurt wearing a cheap mask?
Later, Jezebel asks Bruce "What happens when you've finally won? When they're avenged at last? Will you know?".
What if that's exactly what fractured-psyche Wayne or Alfred or both are trying to do? Trying that Wayne/Batman always has a focus, a meaning to his life? Creating the supreme mastercriminal to fill the emptiness created by Batman's anti-crime spree? Avoiding Wayne has ever to face the situation when he has finally won and won't have anything to do in his life from then on? |
