So Derek's out then.

Eugene seemed a bit broken up about it all. Is Kinga Kong is going to try to seduce him?

I hope so, I think they'd make a lovely couple.

She did almost proposition him at one point when they were talking about Eugene's virginity, well maybe not but there was a little part of me that wanted to believe it was more than just a question about whether he wanted to have sex in general.

The first housemate this series to have (pretty much) no booing. I miss him already, Eugene to win!

Out of the remaining contestants I'm finding Kinga and Eugene comparably likeable. I know there not luminaries of decorum and social skill but at least there not, ye know, *shudder* Craig.
And oh jeebus first Kemal and then Derek. If I was Craig I'd be saying how this was a multifarious plan to destroy me but I'm not so I'll just echoe Nina's Anakin SkyWalker homage.
NOOOOOOOOOO.

I'd go for Eugene and Anthony over Kinga, I think. Kinga's the desperation vote.

Maybe so Ganesh, but despite my feelings of light disgust and annoyance about Kinga I think that she's a relatively nice person maybe not one to be encouraged overly but nice, and ye know comparably.
I think I forgot about Anthony though and even if he doesn't win he does I suppose deserve some kind of official merit (with his own award ceremony and trophy possibly) for putting up with Craig for this long.

21:58 / 05.08.05
Kinga's probably quite as disgusting as everyone else there; she just hasn't had the same opportunity to express it (although she'd done pretty well). This year, we're voting for (relative) innocents, those who've been not-as-much touched by the eeevil corruption of vile disgustingness - which means yes, Kinga's probably No.3 in the Least Vilely Disgusting List, after Eugene and Anthony.

I dunno, she was looking after Eug earlier and it was pretty sweet. She looked *worried* about *someone else* and that's something that's been missing from BB this year.

Ganesh
22:33 / 05.08.05
Yep. As I say, she'd be No.3. I suspect Anthony would be worrying about other people if he weren't busy preserving his own sanity.

Poor Anthnee, my arse. He is contaminated by association with the Prince of Vileness and Megasnivel, Craig Poutylips Mingerissimo. I am going out to buy a Myra Hindley wig to wear to the finale. And a gun.

What have you dont to me, Big Brother? I am pining for a member of the Monday Club to come back into the House and give it some intellect and some zing. What am I saying? This is Big Brother, whence came Jade Goody.

Eugene to win, by default, and by a country mile.

Eugene because, as irritating as he might be now and then, he does seem to be a good and decent person. Kinga is mildly entertaining, and Anthony deserves both a forbearance in the face of insurmoutable asshole award and a sharp slap to tell him to ditch the squealer.
Craig? For sullying the name alone he must have a bizarre accident with the straightening tongs on his first day back at work. Makosi? Feh, say I.

Predictions for Wednesday's eviction? Kinga, I'd guess - now that we're at the stage where the voting is suddenly reversed and allows for real, positive support of one person or another, there's not much chance of her gaining more votes than any one of the others, is there? Makosi's got to be splitting opinion and Craig's probably got a hardcore of support somewhere.

Shame, too. It would have been nice to see his dreams suddenly come crashing down when he realised that he was going to be robbed of reaching the last night by a matter of hours.

Oo! Anthhhony gone a bit apeshit at the Sniveller. There's a video of it floating around the Digitalspy forum - Sniveller doing his Kevin bit, complaining that Anthhhony didn't stand up for him at some point or other and instead sat there "looking fucking gormless," then did the whole tongue-inside-lower-lip "bduh-bduh-bduh" thing at him after Anthony told him to stand up for himself. Finished off a great performance of intelligent behaviour by making to chuck his drink over Anthhhony.

Proper angry yell from Anthhh, frantic producers cut to the ads.

Then more fantastic Snivelling. What a prick.

HoyGate!

Seems that after making to throw beer over Anthony and being told to fuck off, the Sniveller simmered tearily for a while before filling a glass with water and chucking that at him.

Craig's the least favourite to win, according to the bookies. It'd be good if that translated into least votes, meaning he's first out. That might bring home to him just how much he's reviled by those outside the House...

He really does seem to be becoming increasingly desperate as the day draws ever nearer when Anthony will no longer be trapped in the house with him. I imagine there'll be some fun the night before the eviction.

Watching the live stuff on E4, it seems that Anthony's finally been provoked to the point where he's had enough and walked away. I suspect also that, now Derek's gone, Eugene's available to spend time with: okay, he's geeky and occasionally embarrassing, but after Craig, I expect conversing with him is unutterably stress-free.

Craig's having a head-to-head with Makosi (mistake), endlessly reiterating his aggrieved confusion that Anthony's being so unfairly "aggressive" with him. He appears to be in shock that anyone might prefer hanging with Eugene to hanging with Craig (although hanging Craig would be best). As ever, he's caught in the illogical conviction that the mere fact of his feeling victimised means he is being victimised.

I know she's Cardiology rather than Psychiatry, but it really pisses me off to see Makosi, a fellow healthcare professional, actively colluding with Craig's paranoid worldview. She's massively reinforcing his more psychotic interpretations of events.

I think Makosi is in it to win it and her actions are deliberate. She's intelligent enough I believe to realise that Craig is not doing himself any favours with his paranoid persecution complex and by reinforcing it rather than snapping him out of it she is pushing him out of the door.

There does seem to be an upsurge in her crocodile tears in the diary room recently also, clearly a play for the sympathies of the viewing public.

Ganesh
11:41 / 06.08.05
I agree that Makosi wants to win, but I don't think it's 100% svengaliesque manipulation. I think that, as with her lying, sometimes Makosi just stirs because she likes stirring, or because she's carried away with her own cleverness. It's difficult to know exactly what she does believe at any given time; I don't think she always knows.

I'm not sure. I can't help but think the tendency to attribute housemates' actions almost entirely to personality/strategic/g*m*pl*nn*ng factors rather than situational factors is the fundamental attribution error in action yet again. With Makosi, it's understandable, but I wonder if we're underemphasising the accumulated stress of having been in the BB House for ten weeks. I'm guessing she's not the only one to have shed more tears in the last week or so.

Mourne Kransky
15:43 / 06.08.05
If Makosi were playing the good game we expected of her in the first weeks, she would realise that her present stirring is only a successful tactic when courting other housemates to avoid nomination. Now nomination is not an issue, she should be spending her time endearing herself to the public. That she is failing to do as she feuds with the freshly popular Kinga and gets sucked into Craig's gaping self-pitying maw. Her inability to behave consistently towards Eugene, the man-child and default village idiot, is also unwise.

I'm voting for the Diary Room Door Monkey to win.

Awww, touching little Comforting Eugene Moment, from the three least objectionable ones left in the House. Makosi and Craig not pictured.

Okay, I'll admit it: I like Eugene now. Quite a lot. I want to buy him a drink - okay, okay, a non-alcoholic drink, Eugene, jeez - and tell him it will all be okay. But God help me, I almost like Kinga too.

On the other hand... Josef Stalin. George Bush. Julie Burchill. David Blunkett. Suggs from Madness. Barefoot Doctor. All these people were or are, on some level, better human beings than Craig.

Dear oh dear. Kinga ill-advisedly comments on similarities between Craig and Kemal - "well... your sexuality... and coming out in the House". Craig has a Catherine Tate How Very Dare You stropette, insists he has not come out during his time in the House (hmm, "best mate Katie" may want to rephrase herself) and storms off to inform Anthony he's "put that little madam straight".

All of which rather contradicts his claim that he's a role model for "other people in my situation". All he's demonstrated is how to remain ineffectually within one's own pathetically transparent closet.

Yes that was very touching....I'm liking Kinga more by the minute.

And as for Craig...who still believes that he 'hasn't come out' on BB this year, due to him only telling three people in the house that he is gay??? So unless he personally tells each and every member of the Great British public that he's gay, it's not happened right? The fact that he's agreed to go into a house which records his every word for and then beams it into every home in the country appears to have escaped him at this late stage in the game.

Eug is so sweet and his reaction to staying in the house really makes me wish that he would win. Everytime he tears up it breaks my heart because he doesn't deserve to be sad. I think I'm going to have to vote for him on the basis of the footage I've just seen.

When Eugene cries, I find myself oddly affected.

When Craig cries, I find myself wondering how many times you'd have to hit him in the face with a housebrick before he.. just... stopped.

Craig is the human equivalent of the wasp, serving no purpose, evolutionary or otherwise, and existing solely to irritate with his dentist-drill whine.
