Ganesh, I take your point about "she's so entertaining", but I think and hope that the voting public may have moved on a bit since the earlier days of reality TV. The appetite is insatiable yet the loyalty is transient.
What I mean is that, stung in the past by less-than-talented winners of so-called talent shows who have rapidly dropped into obscurity (Steve Brooks-thingy? Michelle McManus?), whilst we will support absolute bastards right up to the very end of a reality show on the grounds that they keep things interesting, at the last moment when there is little remaining shelflife for any further entertainment, we switch support to the person remaining who is the most decent/talented. It's the Will Young/Alex Parks versus Gareth Gates/Alistair Griffin thing, a very British attitude.
I hope so, anyway. |
