If you feel so strongly about it you should have started a dedicated thread sometimes over the last million years because GEK's been around for a very long time.
I've posted at length about my issues with the Gek thread, both in the thread itself and across about seven pages of this policy thread right here. I've brought up this issue up time and time again, year after year, but nothing ever happens. I strongly agree that it should be locked or moved to the conversation, exactly as would happen if something similar began to plague the Head Shop, as per my hypothetical example. Since I'm not a temple moderator, all I can really do is register how much it irritates me.
We go round in circles with this every couple of months whenever these jokers ressurect it and then bugger off again. It always boils down to a few pages of innefectual policy hand-wringing and calls for the three guys who post to it to turn up and give an account of why they find it meaningful and fulfilling. Which they never fucking do, because they never post anywhere else or seemingly even read other posts in the same thread that critique this behaviour. And so it goes on. I've taken to registering how much the presence of this thread winds me up by satirising it in the Keg thread, which I fully intend to continue to do until both threads are locked. |
