One of those UFOs could have killed his parents. Obsession!

Fear not furioso, I hear J.H. Williams III's doing #666 and the International Batmen storyline.

as for why he would care about UFOs, he is a detective. A curious, investigating sort by nature who likes to learn about the world.

Plus, then he can borrow the UFO and fly around in it.

He had a Bat-Saucer in the JLA Classified arc, right? He's got his own UFO.

That's an IFO in the JLA arc. And besides, he's got a billion cars, why not a billion alien spacecraft?

Woah, woah, woah - wait a second - J.H. Williams is on art for 666? Whu?! When did that happen? Here's hoping that's not just a rumor.

In a world that includes hundreds, possibly thousands of people who can fly, as well as ultra advanced vehicles used by superhero teams, and actual honest to gosh identified alien spaceships the flying objects that remain unidentified, expecially to Batman have to be pretty bloody weird indeed. I don't know about Bruce but I bloody well want to know what they are.

Shiny, thanks to you, I just want to know where I can find a Batman story called I Don't Know About Bruce. Almost writes itself.

Wow. Y'know now I find myself thinking that by the time I slept a time or two I'll be convinced 'I Don't Know About Bruce' actually appeared in an obscure 1953 issue of Batman, and even rereading this thread won't convince me otherwise.

Yesterday's news -- see pages earlier in this thread (probably about 2-3 pages before this one) for art and the news stories. It's guaranteed, so rejoice!

Can't find what you're talkin' about Finder. All I see is that 666 has been pushed to July and even the official solicits still claim Kubert on art. Who's got the real scoop? And are aliens somehow involved???

Is this the link you were referring to, Finder? JHWIII seems to have been confirmed for the Batmen of All Nations arc, which runs from 667 to 669, but the solicit for 666 confirms Kubert, although it does seem to have been delayed from May 30 to July 18.

BATMAN #666

Written by Grant Morrison; Art by Andy Kubert and Jesse Delperdang; Cover by Andy Kubert
----
Sorry if I got your hopes up, but I'm sure I read it in an interview. Probably the same FinderWolf's referring to.

Just hope I wasn't wrong about the International Batmen arc.

Yep. That's all true. I didn't mean to imply that Kubert wasn't doing the issues he's doing. But JHW III is doing the issues he's doing. *lol* It's all good.

I'm fine with Kubert anyway. His art's really fast, pulpy and dynamic. Basically, the fight scenes have rocked in this book. And there's been one in every issue, which should please Cameron enormously. Batman's real superheroes! Having said all that, I'm really pleased J H is guesting on the book.

Oh, in line with the 'populaion explosion' thing, there's a paper on the ground on the first page that seems to read 'Joker Sh..'. 'Joker Show'?, perhaps? There's a good chance this does't mean anything, but...

I just got round to reading this. As mentioned, no Tibetan caves, no Joe Chill.

I still think the Third Ghost could be Damien, or... The Third Ghost's silhouette has the same bat-head that Golden Age Batman had - and Thomas Wayne wore that costume in that one issue where they said he was accidentally the first Batman.

If he's another cop, Jim Gordon suffering from post-Joker-toxin craziness fits in all the father trauma. It's a guess without merit.

I think the tulpa/trauma thing is on the money, although it looks like there's some sort of conspiracy to replace Batman that's well in motion, that started during his 'year off'. "...as if he was designed to trigger my worst fears..." Maybe Talia wanted a proper father if Bruce was dead and tried to make him. Maybe the Joker wanted to ensure he had a proper playmate. Further baseless guesses. Maybe Gotham abhors a vacuum.

I liked the new Lazarus Pit.

"You're on my list." "I figured I could take him." "I've beaten up Superman." "You don't have to prove anything to me." S'good Batman.

I wonder if next issue's entirely a flashback, or if we'll get more three-ghosts stuff. This comic comes out less often than ASS does, I swear.

I think the next one's set in the future, so it's unlikely it's a flashback. Hopefully the book'll find an even keel now that J H is taking over for a few issues after #666.

LDones
09:32 / 29.05.07
Oh. Yes. Flash-forward, yes. Flashback to the future.

FinderWolf

Where was the new Lazarus Pit? I didn't think Damian's 'bacta tank where he gets new organs' was really a Lazarus pit...

Yeah, I loved "same reason you did, Jim...I thought I could take him" [crime and corruption personified]. That was fun hard-boiled dialogue and a line we've never heard from Bats.

I guess the third ghost has to be Damian, since there's only 1 issue left in this story and it seems to be the future where Damian takes over as Bats, from the cover...

The Natural Way
17:06 / 29.05.07
The solicits (or something, I can't really remember what) state that Damian will face the anti-christ in #666. So, if that info's correct, and, no, I'm not remembering wrong, then Damian will be facing the 3rd ghost in this ish; the Batman who sold his soul to the Devil.

I am very pissed off about the scheduling of this comic. Now that Comic's Thursday Down the Pub is no more, I think I might start waiting for the trade.

We'll see how the next arc goes.

DC's now saying 666 out next month, with TWO of the JH Williams drawn Club of Heroes issues (667/668) coming out in August and the 3rd and final part in 669 in September.

I've little to no faith this schedule will be adhered to, but 669's cover is a fuck yeah and a half.

Solicitations mention The Club Of Villains.
