Ah, okay, I'll just leave it then.

IT'S WORKING. There are gongs sounding in my head.

More checking needed!

We have two records (messages 1043 and 1051) that need checking and over 30 passed applications need to be sent to Tom.

Where are the message numbers?

Shrug

I think that I've gotten those two. They were the only ones without a name beside them at the time. No idea about the msg number, though.

The message numbers are beside the messages on the main message page.

Just realised that for some reason I had been unsubbed from the mailing for a few weeks so haven't been pulling my weight (that and the cockmuppet hat falling over my eyes). Will throw myself back into it this week.

unsubbed?

■
21:34 / 23.06.06
Unsubscribed. Yahoo thought I had an invalid email address because a message had allegedly bounced, so it stopped forwarding messages. I thought there was no-one new to check.

Looks as if we're down to only one unchecked on the list, and I'm gonna be away from the geekosphere for a while, so I haven't time to do it. Anyone else want to take it?

I've just done some checking and there are two unchecked left -anyone happy to take them?

Done.

I'm willing to help check. Zipped you a PM, Anna, because I'm unclear on just how to go about logging into all the accounts, labelling things, etc.

Tryphena Absent

Right, I've given Bryan access to the database et al. We have no one left to check because Shrug is like Churon con chocolate and there are no emails in the account. Let's take the day off tomorrow and put our feet up shall we?

well done guys, thanks for all the hard work.

Aw, shucks. I was hoping to play super-sleuth on my first night as an official checker, and the database is all caught up. Shrug, you friggin' animal!

You guys are extraordinarily good. Well done everyone involved.

More applications going up on the database now. We've had quite a few emails in the last couple of days.

We have 15 unchecked records.

Look, I'm a bit worried about the security of the applications process at the moment. Can anyone who is a checker who has been on the board for less than three years please request a second check?

Jack Vincennes
20:29 / 16.07.06
Anna, I'll try to do some checking tomorrow (thats seven unchecked records, all) -happy to do second checking as well if I'm needed (having just found out I've been on the board three years this month)

Tryphena Absent
21:35 / 16.07.06
That would be good although I think if say Mordant, Haus and Grant had time to second check that would be the best really. I think the second checks would be best focused on posting style...

21:43 / 16.07.06
Gosh, I've been here for over three years. That surprised me. I think that since we've cleared the big backlog second-checking sounds like a good idea. Will pounce on a few tomorrow, I promise.

I'll do my best - trying to unpeel self from barbelith a bit at the moment, but this may be a useful form of community service...

Shrug
20:12 / 18.07.06
Ooo, I've been registered for over three years... just. I don't think I qualify for something like returning-troll-watch though as I'm really not familiar enough with their posting styles.

I passed someone on the 4th of this month (and it's been sent) but the applicant in question hasn't recieved any word from Tom: I know this could just be a matter of busyness because of a wealth of recent applications but is there any way I could check if this particular applicant has somehow slipped through the system???

Jack Vincennes
05:51 / 20.07.06
Shrug, PM or email me with their email address and I can check that everything's okay on my end. It seems likely that Tom has just been busy, but there are any number of stages in the process where someone could have been missed accidentally.

I'm forwarding the emails in the gmail account and suspending the applications process for a month. Can glandmaster please pm me?

Okaaayyyy, how do people feel about starting to check again?

22:29 / 18.08.06
I've not got much Barbelith time at the moment, but I'll do what I can.

Either way, can we forward the outstanding passed applications on to Tom? It seems like a shame to leave them stranded on the drawbridge, visas in hand.

Shrug

I was just wondering about some of the applicants stuck in the pre-board acceptance half-light (one in particular, in fact). I pm-ed Vincennes about it a while ago but I think ze may have forgotten. Any chance someone could check status out for me?

Tryphena Absent
19:52 / 19.08.06
I can check status. Could people focus on what we have in the database. Once those are passed I will forward the next 50 odd applicants.

Jack Vincennes
20:59 / 19.08.06
Sorry Shrug - I forgot. Tom didn't email me back but he was on holiday and then lots of new people came on the board. I guessed your guy was amongst them as I hadn't sent off a new set of people in the meantime.

Shrug
22:07 / 19.08.06
Oh good, I could probably just msg the applicant again. Ze gave me an email a while ago. Will check it out and get back to you. Thanks.
