If we're up for that level of coding, Lula, it would probably be easier to set up a new board than to hack this one. This one, since it is sitting on server space which Tom is paying for, is probably not for hacking, in the sense of forcibly accessing and rewriting the code - ethics aside - and it would be an ethically unjustifiable thing to do - the logical response would simply be to shut down the site immediately.
In a broader sense of "hack", there are solutions using the existing technology, although the various implementations are either highly insecure or labour-intensive. I'm looking at the probability of those working at present.
New or altered board software would be one way to go. Howeve, that Barbelith.com will never have a structured update path or a significantly new technology base is the safest assumption. Everything proceeds from that. |
