Wotcha all, been playing a couple of days (an no, I'm not telling all you zombies where I am...), and I think a good tactic would be to treat the last 5 or 10 APs as if it were the zero limit, so that if you need to run like buggery, you will always have a few left.

Can only Necrotech scientists use reviv syringes?

Because I can come revive you, Bill, if my soldier can operate 'needley needles'

My small zombie horde has scored it's first kill. Three zeds run by my brother, a friend, and myself located a fella all on his lonesome in a secured building. I crack the shell, then we all cracked the nut inside.

Brought myself Lurching Gait out of it. It's all gone a bit 28 Days Later for Hungry Dan, superzombie.

My soldier has found a heavily defended enclave of Humanity with upward of twenty to thirty people in three heavily barricaded buildings. He's leveled up to improve his axemanship. So now I'll be mainly chopping those deadheads down then finishing them off execution-style with a single bullet to the back of the head.

Now, either I'm in some areas of high infestation, or the zombies are winning.

They destroy our cities and we fall back. They infect entire buildings and we fall back. A line must be drawn here! This far, no further! And I will make them pay for what they have done!

Triplets - you need to have Necrotech Employment and then NecroTech lab skills, I think, before you can use the syringes.

Is there a revive list up and running? As you can gather, I'm not doing very well........

I left my Fireman in a Police station with over 30 people for 1 day and now he's dead... Thats three deaths total now, my zombie killing days are over, humans beware!

Is there a revive list up and running?

Yes, there's a thread on the Urban Dead forum where a guy is collating one via PMs. I've also heard it's worth hanging around in empty and strategically unimportant blocks (like car parks, wasteland) which are adjacent to NecroTech buildings. That seems to be a signal that you're mostly harmless and just waiting to be cured (if you stand right outside the NecroTech office people will assume you're trying to force your way in). I haven't tried it myself though, so can't vouch for its effectiveness.

Cocks.

I'm not sure I can face playing as a zombie, or getting revived or whatever. Reckon I'll just start a new character.

Well, it wouldn't hurt to post your dead character's name and location for us 'Lith scientists who happen to be in the area.

Hip Flask is still dead, but help should be on the way...

Shit, finally got my first level up and I'm suddenly surrounded by the buggers with 5APs and no more server hits. My plan migt be overrated, but I can see my credit card taking a hit to test it.

Hip's alive again. Yippee!

But, Jesus. There are gigantic mobs of zombies out there... I got word of a 20-to-40 strong group of them cutting a swath through the city...

revivification syringes seem to be rarer than hen's teeth... My necrotech spent most of his APs looking for one in vain. He got more XPs from reading a book!

Elsewhere, my military guy went on a kill frenzy taking out two zombies in one sortie...

My civilian still languished at level two, but hopefully soon he will steal enough medipacks to level up and gain some more useful skills...

I had Bucky Barnes waiting in a police lockup for just over 18 hours. He went in with full health and left looking like the Red Skull. Avenge me, Sax!

My latest line-up:

Eponymous Jones, detective lv 1
Jake Rockwell, private lv 1
Greg Detwiller, captain lv 8
John Triplets, shambling lv 4

Sax
06:55 / 24.08.05
Sax, Kerouac, Steve Rogers and Septimus have all succumbed to the plague.

Which only leaves Kirstie Allsopp, girl scout still alive. Can I come play with one of you big, hunky guys for protection?

You can come and evaluate my des-res fire station, if you like Kirsty. Its got a pole and everything. I'm looking to downgrade to the country.

West Boundwood still if anyone fancies it. Far north, but there's quite a posee of survivors here and one huge zombie gang.

BTW, my other character Supaglue Jnr (names were never my strong point)is hoping for revival. He's in Darvill Heights around the Latrobe Towers [28,24]. PM me if you can help.

Sorry nina - only 1 AP per half hour...

It didn't even give me that. At this rate poor old Veevee the zombie is going to be very shortly dead.

When a zombie dies it takes 10APs before it can stand up again if that was what you were asking.

Billuccho!

If you stand up with anything less than that it will actually give you negative APs.

I believe that's a negatory, sleaze. They gotta be shambling about first.

Evil Scientist
13:38 / 25.08.05
Not so. My non-zombified Necrotech has revived a ton of people so far. Like all the good stuff you just need to spend at least ten to twenty APs searching the building.

Howling Dan's only three levels away from getting the Zombie Killer skill Headshot. Ooh, the excitement.

Hungry Dan's had the satisfaction of tracking a fella who'd just killed him. The fool thought a closed door would stop me! I give him this though, he had strong guts.

...his brain was pretty tender though.

Thank you, thank you, I'm here all week.

Son of a bitch. I spend five turns barricading the building, and I still end up dead in the street. I'm in Miltown, anyone nearby capable of reviving the fallen Charrellz?

My scout and consumer have bought the farm.

Charlie Chancer military scout had barricaded all the surrounding building but NNOOO the shamblers had to look in the warehouse...

Back to the drawing board.

Lots of fairly established characters biting it recently (two of my first included). Might be the old school zombies finally at a level where barricades and hunting are no longer that much of an obstacle. Possibly because older players getting a bit tired or distanced from the game - this is from my POV. I've gone through the level and grind cycle a few times I don't check my characters as often as I used to, in the case of Bucky Barnes this led to me leaving him for about 36 hours. Chomp chomp, yum yum, as they say.

What worries me is people seem to think there's something wrong with being dead. My medic S M Artace died yesterday and he's having more fun than ever. There must be something wrong with your brains. Mmmmmm.... braaaains....

Well, my necrotech character is now hungering for brains - anyone able to revive him in the Pitney bank area?

Axolotl

The problem with zombie characters imho is that they are much a slower to level up (and rightly so) and a low level zombie character is pretty rubbish (once again rightly so). I think this makes zombies less fun to play.
