Is Caiger still going off? I wanna be in eon's gang!

It's taken while to get up here but I should be there by tomorrow morning.

The Caiger encirclement is definitely going on. When the Mall will be taken is another question entirely. Looks like the survivors still outnumber the zombies.

Two of the older established hordes, the RRF & the MotA, are taking this as an opportunity to expand their territory.

Bill of R - One of my characters has eleven pistols. More of 'em means less reloading, which wastes AP.

c0ncept, a pistol takes up two slots on your inventory while a pistol clip, of six bullets, only take one slot. I would prefer to have six pistols and ten clips which takes up the same space. Though you have to spend one AP to reload.

I'm at Caiger now and bloody hell, I've never seen so many Zs! At present, the blocks I have views of have 50, 365, 141, 422 Zs!

There must be a fair few survivors in there to be keeping this lot out....

Well, all I can say is that the Zeds certainly appear to have failed to hold theirt gains...

Caiger is totally entrenched, as far as I can tell. Sorry if this is stating the obvious, but every time I check there are something like 2-3000 survivors inside and around 2000 Zombies outside.

(Oh, and, hi, I'm one of the crop of newbies around.)

The one noticeable thing is that if you have free-running and one or both of the shopping skills is that Caiger is now one big groovy exp-love in; one of my two characters has gone from level 6 to level 21 in roughly two weeks.

Also, the one thing I've not noticed much talk about on this thread is the occasional gems the Graffiti seems to come up with, for instance if you get to the NT building south of Caiger you're greeted with Dick Cheney attacks you for 10 damage sprayed on the wall.

Puerile? Yes. I'm guilty of giggling, though.

For those still keeping tabs on the Caiger situation, we launched one of the biggest timed assaults that the game has seen earlier on, and got about 82 Zombies inside the NW corner. By the time we'd finished an hour later, 52 Humans had been killed.

Balls. I'd been hanging around the SE corner and missed it all. Got a forum link or something so I don't miss out again?

Actually if you do, could you PM it so the survivors don't get hold of it.

And hello and welcome feverfew, BTW.

Well, thank you for the welcome, Supaglue.

The word going round at the moment seems to be that the Mall Tour are slinking away from Caiger, although that could just be survivor propaganda. The last time I popped my head out to have a look there were less than a thousand zombies outside, which is the lowest number I've seen there for a while, so there may be some credence to this theory.

Prove me wrong, oh hordes, prove us plucky two and a half-thousand survivors inside the mall itself wrong...

Us Zs haven't given up yet - but the numbers do seem to be dwindling.

Four of us got in Caiger Mall yesterday! For about 5 minutes. Managed to do a couple of attacks, gasp at the 1100 odd names and then promptly got battered and dumped back outside.

Just in case anyone's still playing this, they did a nice enough April Fool's prank, in that on logging in your charactes will have the message "A vampire attacks you for 4 damage. They drain one pint of blood."

This links you to the page saying "April Fool! Don't worry, you didn't really take four damage."

Oh, those wacky hijinks.

By the way everyone, Urban Dead was one year old yesterday!

How did you celebrate?

My zombies burst into buildings across Miltown and chowed down on innocent mortal flesh.

Happy Z-Day!

For those who have lapsed, what's going on? How has the game changed?

Hoo, where to start?

Well, a new feature that has been introduced is the inclusion of radio transmitters. Set one up in a powered building and you can broadcast citywide. Anyone on the same frequency will hear you (it renders the mobile phones a bit superfluous but I don't think many people used them anyway). You need to buy the Broadcast skill to re-tune the frequency and to broadcast on certain wavebands.

The recent troubles with the skewed population (at one point only 1/3 of the city population were zeds) seem to have been controlled with a couple of modifications. It's now 10APs to revive a zombie, which has slowed things down a little. Zeds have been given a new skill which allows them to sniff out the largest group of zeds in the vicinity so that they can rest relatively safely.

Of course, the Ransack ability is also helping to slow revivification. Zombies can now wreck buildings and leave them unsearchable until all zombies are cleared out and the damage is repaired.

Feeding Drags are a new zed attack method, allowing the zombies to pull a dying (12HP or less) survivor out of a building and onto the street.

I'm not sure what's happening in the rest of the city but my little cadre of friends (calling ourselves The Coalition) are battling Doom Patrol for domination of South-Central Miltown. Buildings are barricaded and torn back down within hours. It's all a bit hectic.

Oh forgot to mention. Brain rotted zombies can now only be revived inside a powered up Necrotech Building.

I got me an account. Ainutep as a medic. Handsome Charles as a zombie.

I have very little idea what to do, but I got a strange easy exitement about this game.

I've yet to read the 35 pages of this thread, which I'm sure will get me up to speed and possibly answer this question, but is there any kind of barbelith horde/group going on? Where do most people hang out?

I think there was an actual Barbelith group but I haven't seen any sign of them for a while. Some friends and I have formed a small group called The Coalition. One of my PCs is in Roachtown which has a relatively low zed population if you want to swing by (or need a revive), he's called Charles Dahmer.

Grab yourself a radio from a Police Station and tune it to 27.00 for updates from us (it's mainly to do with what's going on in the SE corner of the city).

I'd stay out of the bottom suburbs at the moment. A massive horde of zeds called the Big Bash is sweeping across and killing everything in their path.
