So, who's been tagging "BARBELiTH" ? I came back to the server to find that someone had tagged inside the hospital I was holed up in. And they didn't say "Hi."

I also overheard some conversation regarding some kind of Brotherhood of Revivifiers. My Necrotech character may have to join that bunch, as dezombieing gives FAT XP!

I am so fucked. Went out for a leisurly zombie bashing stroll, shot and smacked a few dead-heads around while keeping one eye on my A.P., for my getaway, and CRAP! I can't get back into the police station I was holing up in! The geniuses barricaded it up too well- I'm gonna have to get me some Freerunning sk33lz and La Parkour my way back in- and I so wanted that Axe Proficiency.

This games good at those spanner in the works moments.

Finally getting to grips with working my medic, she's almost leveled up now.

How does getting his DNA extracted affect my zombie character?

To all zombies, I'm still in East Boundwood. But I only have the one syringe currently. So first come, first revived. PM me here and I'll set up a meeting point.

I can't recommend Freerunning enough. Essentially, it makes it half as expensive to move around a clump of buildings, which is handy for me at the moment as there's a row of three, with one hospital, and each is full of people needing healing. Thus, as a medic, I can tool up with plenty 1st aid kits and get lots of xp.

Dear Log,
This may be my last entry for Darkestown is aswarm with zombies and I fear for my safety. I have used up the last of my energy to barricade the doors to my stronghold but I can hear them swarming outside. I can even smell them. The stench is terrifying.
Almost worst of all I have run out of cigarrettes but am to lazy to go to the shop.
Is this the end?

My firefighter is wandering around aimlessly in Miltown (currently at the McCullock Building to be exact). His axe is at the service of anybody nearby if you wish to form a zombie huntin' posse.

As above avoid Darkestown, I ran past Liger there surrounded by zombies, apart from that I haven't seen any other lithers.

I'm currently in Lurkinswood...and it seems like people are gathering in the police stations for protection, so I'll head toward the closest one before I leave on a training trip tomorrow.

I logged on in my new hotel hideout, to find a zombie chewing on my ear. Fucknose how it got past the barricades, and the other stuffed shirt in there wasn't helping, so I started belting it with my axe. Hee, imagine Mr. Zombie's suprise when my repeated axings of his cranium caused me to spontaneously develop freerunning skills, which I used to leap to the nearest police station, fetch some bullets, and come back to KICK HIS ASS!
God, I love RPG logic.

Sorry for the delay Evil S. Couldn't get to a PC for a couple of days. Am almost at East Boundwood now. Will PM you later today if you've still got the syringe.

This is Charles Dahmer, Necrotech employee. Avoid Upper Brookwood! Repeat. Avoid Upper Brookwood! Large numbers of zombies moving into the area. Their flocking patterns are a classic sign of a pre-feeding swarm build-up. Leave the area immediately!

I'm hiding in a church, managed to barricade the doors. But I think one got in after me. There's another survivor here. Hopefully we can survive long enough to move on.

Signing off...

has anyone ever found a pistol in a gun shop? - at the moment my consumer has a fuck load of ammo, but nothing to fire it with - should he head over to a police station instead?

Axolotl

What's the best way for a consumer to gain XP? My consumer (William Morrison) has all kinds of cool stuff but has no chance of actually hitting a zombie, let alone killing one.

I'm in the Brazey Building in East Boundwood. If you ccan get tehre, the area seems quiet enough and the doors are at least secure.

BTW, What do crucifixes do? I've got three and am starting to look like a kick-ass pontiff...

Phyrephox, they don't give XP for quivering in a corner, soo... probably the best way is to grab a load of 1st aid kits and start healing other people. 1st aid kits have 100% accuracy so you'll pick up 5xp each time.

Axolotl
12:43 / 15.08.05
Bah. I don't want to heal people, I want to kick some undead ass. Back to my main character I guess. He's finally got good enough to make zombie hunting a worthwhile proposition.

My consumer has just got himself a gun and a load of ammo, which will probably give him two accurate hits...

So, do medical kits give out health points regardless of whether or not people actually need healing?

Axolotl
15:09 / 15.08.05
Nah, First aid packs only work on the wounded, and therefore you can't use them on healthy people, though it does waste an AP to try.

All Acting Regiment

Of course, if you get the Diagnosis skill, you can see who needs healing and who doesn't.

lekvar

The only real way to level up a consumer is the first-aid route, or reading books. Books may or may not give a single XP, but healing the wounded gives 5 XP. Once you've got 100 XP by combat skillz and start kicking ass, or buy Necrotech employment. Harvesting DNA gives 4 XP, revivifying gives something like 30 XP!

I think it's interesting that the game forces consumers to help each other at the beginning. Before I was clued in on the first-aid thing I was spending all my time at the mall, looting and running from zombies. Now that I've leveled up enough to get some combat skills I'm thinking that more medic training might be a good investment.

I've been juggling several characters and seeing how the classes work out... Of course, I clearly chose the wrong skill for my zombie character (it's better to grab Memories of Life or Lurching Gait first, then move onto the attack skills).

I've noticed that the Necrotech guy levels up really fast. I've also managed to turn my cop into a walking arsenal, with a mountain of shotguns and pistols and ammo, so I can go on the warpath to gain quick XP.

My firefighter's still plugging away as well, so I can work on firearms a bit in order to branch out my fighting skills... hit 'em with a few bullets to soften 'em up and bring in the ol' axe to finish 'em off.

Any minute now the clock'll turn over, my IP will become unrestricted (darn that 160 action limit), and my Necrotech guy will be able to check plenty of DNA.

Oh, and apparently you can now gain further firearms skills, as there's new levels for pistols and shotguns. Yippee!

Midnight (GMT)... ffs, lekvar

I'm running a boatload of characters at the moment in order to experiment with some of the skill trees.

Jack Triplets who has some of the firearms skills and Nectotech Employment (kill a zombie, tag a zombie - it's great). Greg Detwiller who's a one-man army, John Triplets who eats people and Bucky Barnes who should've been doing what Greg's doing but got left outside a garage with 0AP left

Anyone up for a revival in Kinch Heights? Am willing to relocate tomorrow and Wednesday.

When you all speak in the game do you find yourself talking with a funny voice or dialect? I don't know why, but from the moment he first spoke my fireman has sounded like a peckerwood from backwoods 'Bama. (e.g. "Hootyhoo! I done kilt me my first zombie!" and "I think you folks best build yaselves a new barricade. I done kilt one of em but there's doubtless more'm headin yoursaways.")

Is nobody else doing this?

Charles Dahmer R.I.P.

...or not as the case may be. He's currently assailing the barricades of a shopping mall with his zombie brethren.

The moral of the story is: Never forget you left your Necrotech standing next to a zombie. A little nibble here, a little nibble there, and suddenly you're a walking corpse.

Ah well, time to find those tasty humans.

On the plus side; Howling Dan (my soldier) has now developed Advanced Pistol Skillz. Expect to see him throwing himself sideways past zombie hoards expertly picking them off, John Woo-style. He's re-arming in a police station. No-doubt when he walked in there a couple of doves criss-crossed in the air in front of him.
