Charles Dahmer was a scholar and a gent. He saved my life and hopefully I can return the favour, once I figure out this science malarky.....

I just started, spent the night with a zombie, and got bitten a few times.

Now I'm in a hotel with a bunch of PCs. In Larkwood (?).

This should be interesting.

I am Alan Burgroft. A medical man.

Is anyone else feeling the "Medic Rage"? It's what you get when you're a medic without Diagnosis and so you come to a building and end up wasting AP because some other medics got there first. No?

I was feeling that until my medic got eaten now I'm mostly feeling brain hunger rage ... and indigestion.

I feel medic rage, but only because every fucker in the world has uber-barricaded all the hospitals. It would be embarrasing to join a group of zombies attacking barricades, but I'm going to have to resort to that soon.

So... any Necrotechs still alive in East Boundwood?

A definite yay on medic rage - my one medic character is still waiting for his first skill. Which will be pistol, at which point he will start shooting indiscriminately at zombies to get XP.

Scout Withiel reporting from East Boundwood. Currently holed up in Bale Mall after smacking some zombies with axes. I have all teh free running, though.

My consumer is getting close to leveling up thanks to medi kits...

My military employee isn't too far off either, thanks to medikits and fancy book learning

My necrotech employee is too bust tagging zombies who have already been tagged - time to move away from necrotech buildings....

Haus, may I suggest melee skills instead of firearms? Pistols require bullets, but fire axes and baseball bats never run out of ammo.

Yes, my consumer has the medic rage and will likely be picking up XP-harvesting skills soon... does taging give XP?

Alan Burgroft is a Necrotech employee -- Raul B Grafton is a doctor. I'm trying to move both of them to Mornington.

Just because.

Aha! My firefighter (Horatio McPuckett) had made it to level 3. Now I've got sweet hand-to-hand skills *and* gun skills. I'm thinking for going for free running next, and then bulk up more gun skills, or grab construction or something. Opinions?

I declare Absquatulater the former-soldier-current-zombie a lost cause.

Sonny Crockett the scout is now holed up in a hospital in New Arkham, gathering medkits and reading books and old newspapers (which are hinting at a cause of the outbreak: I read articles about bird flu and cemetary overcrowding).

OMG I'm So Extreme the zombie is lurching around somewhere, biting people. He is more useful than Absquatulater because he actually started with 'skills' that make him 'not suck quite as much.' Earlier this evening, he gnawed on someone who was at level 1 with no experience. I am very proud of him.

Interesting how, unlike zombie movies, you're sort of actively encouraged to help folks out, since you get better experience that way (if you're a doctor, the healing with the first aid kits is gooood) and are more likely to survive the night if you're with a group, even if you don't know each other and never communicate.

It's that XP for healing other people -- you don't get it if you heal yourself. Built in sociability.

Also, the zombies aren't encouraged to communicate, so its planning against unorganised numbers. The zombies communication is limited, they appear identical to one another on the map, etc. This should also encourage team work from the survivors. Saying that, looking at the Fort Perryn Massacre, the zombs are suprisingly co-ordinated...

For anyone in East Boundwood, there are two police stations back-to-back that a load of us have barricaded and are defending. I'm at the Carner Way Police Dept [41,0], with about 10 others. Shelter for all...

Evil Scientist

Hungry Dan, my zombie character, was getting a little lonely out on the streets. So he's developed Memories of Life and is off to search some buildings for friendly humans. I just want to spread the joy.

Brain Fever next, then onto either Lurching Gait or Death Rattle. I like the idea of taunting humans with my basic word skillz, plus I might be able to point out to some of my more cannibalistic brethren that zombie no get exp if he eat zombie. Number of times I've been bitten to death by one of my own.

Zombies, eh? You just can't trust em.

Oh, yeah - long time gone. There is talk of trying to retake it, which is possible - a large enough number of people could theoretically burst into the armoury, kill the zombies inside while barricading it, and then throw out the corpses. You'd need a lot of guns, though.

Evil Scientist, the words you can make with Death Rattle are limited, however, I'm not going to mess with a zombie who roars "GANG BANG" at every opportunity.

Also in East Boundwood, Bale Mall looks pretty safe, but it looks like the zombies are moving in fairly rapidly. I'm going to have to run away pretty soon, I think.

Miscounted my APs, now I'm stuck in the open for at least an hour. Y'know, for such a basic game, this thing can get frighteningly absorbing (and absorbingly frightening...)

All on your own eh? Hungry Dan will come and keep you, and your juicy brain, company.

All I need is two words. "Eat humans!" Alternatively "Door open." To lead my fetid brethren to victory.

Are the rumours true? Is Hungry Dan building an army?

To be honest, Lurching Gait would be more valuable to a roving lone predator zombie such as Hungry Dan. I just like the idea of being the zany wise-talking flesheater.

A zany wise cracking zombie? Sounds like a great sitcom pitch. I can just see it now: "I'm a guy, and my flatmates a zany wise cracking type, the twist is he's a zombie who's trying to build an army of the undead in order to eat brains." It practically writes itself.

OMG I'm So Extreme has just killed his first human. It's the same level one, zero experience guy on whom he chomped last night. I logged in today, bit him once, and he died. Though I've been playing this game for over a week, this marks the first time any of my characters have killed anybody. I'm getting a warm, fuzzy feeling inside.

Supa and Stoatie: Sonny Crockett is en route to East Boundwood as we speak. It could take a couple of days.

I don't really get this game yet.

You wander around, you kill zombies (or, if you're a zombie, humans). You try not to get killed, because you'll just wake up undead. Gathering ammo, plotting strategy, and hiding in barricaded buildings to replenish your action points is all key.

What good does DNA extraction actually do? I mean both for the player and for the character.
