I want to be able to tag figures in scientific literature with suggestions for authors, and for editorial policy: e.g. "the type in this sequence alignment is too small, doesn't reproduce clearly in the pdf".
Also for making rapid note of errors! I get annoyed at how many errors there are in the literature, they are confusing when I'm trying to learn. But of course as soon as I have the matter worked out in my head, they become only a minor inconvenience and it's hard then to make myself bother to take action to fix them by e.g. emailing the publishers. That activity - mailing people about minor errors in their papers - might justifiably seen as procrastination, no? And hence must be strenuously avoided unless I am genuinely unable to work, yet it irritates me to be more culpable in the propagation of error.
Thanks for your attention, etc. |
