Almost scary, how much she looks like Colin Farrell with a wig in that photo.

I got winamp on random and The Magnetic Fields come up with I Don't Believe in the Sun. And damn, Stephin Merritt sounds just like Ted Levine. Who´s that? Yes, it´s the actor who played Jame Gumb, better known as the serial killer Buffalo Bill in The Silence of the Lambs. Will I ever be able to listen to such cheery songs as I Think I Need a New Heart or The Luckiest Guy on the Lower East Side without imagining him mumbling "Are You About a Size 14?" or "Put the fucking lotion in the basket!".

Did the BBC seriously just publish an article using the phrase "these ones"?

I'm thinking of changing my nick to Darth Vader and spending a month as an evil Sith Lord.

Or I could be a Care Bear.

Apparently there's been a bit of political drama in my Village while I've been away at Uni.

Sadie Graham, who was the BNP's East Midlands co-ordinator lives here until recently when she opened up a blog, Enough is Enough Nick . blogspot . com Vocally critizing lots of High ranking BNP people, likening a few to Nazis etc. Aparently Nick Griffin saw it as the start of an attempted coup, sacked her from the party, had her house bugged and had "Party Security" enter her property under false pretenses to retrieve party property, AND her Laptop and PC.

Oh, I missed that. I honestly thought that Stoatie had something against Rats. I'm rarely in the mood to hear about cute ickle furry things forced into cannabalism.

Maybe I take things too literally?

TTS:

"I'm thinking of changing my nick to Darth Vader and spending a month as an evil Sith Lord.

Or I could be a Care Bear."

I'd opt for the heart,

but then again,

I'm a long-haired (almost wrote log-haired), largely unemployed hippie born in the wrong decade.

For shame, Veng - you're the only one who can do it.

For my own part, it's dawning on me that the downside of belonging to a vintage/retro music mailing list is that at least of third of the posts are obituaries. Gets depressing after a while.

Declining to download the final episodes of your favourite anime series because the fansub group that translated them adopted the name [RonPaul2008] is a legitimate political protest.

Why are all the good quality, pretty vibrators that one would want to leave in a loved one's christmas stocking so fucking expensive?

Why do the shops that sell them not offer a student discount?

Nice and Naughty, my favourite chain of kink-shops, do NUS discounts I think.

Though they are overpriced to begin with, so maybe it won't do much good.

Have you thought of buying second hand?

The Barbelith Group has "The Invisibles" under "Related Groups". (Along with "Grant Morrison is a genius. Recognize." But we will speak of that no more.)

However, the "The Invisibles" group poses the most important question I think I've seen this year so far, namely;

"Is Grant Morrison our Midwife?"

Think on that.

I'm thinking of setting up an existential academic debt advice site; The Student Koans Company.

Debt will continue to increase, unless measures are taken. But measures inhibit ability to decrease debt. From this, is there escape?

There really should be a two-week moratorium between Dead Megatron having a thought and people being able to read it on the Internet. During which interval he could possibly have his keyboard confiscated or something.

That was uncalled for Haus. I wonder why you have a problem with what DM posted. Why would you feel the need to do a virtual-sidle-up to someone and put them down?

The weird thing is, I was actually pretty much on his side to start with. I mean, he'd said something stupid, but, you know, Dead Megatron. No reason for Flowers to take the piss.

Esprit d'escalier; or, wondering, in retrospect, if pointing out that certain recent ideas advanced in the aforementioned Dark Knight thread were akin to seriously proposing the idea that it was Unicron was most responsible for Orson Welles' death.
