And...and...Superman is Trust!
Overall, it's that sentiment, and things like it, that really kick this into the stratosphere for me. I love it that, when it's so easy to be negative and cynical about the world, Morrison's putting out this little series which actually trumpets trust and (grounded) optimism. That these issues often have a little miniclimax consisting of some simple, true emotion.
Sorry if I'm going overboard; I just finished Tomine's Shortcomings and thought it was basically one man's negativity-drenched journey up his own asshole. In the face of that, A*S just seems supernaturally good. |
