I am annoyed that moderators don't have the ability to put someone in timeout. A generic PHPBB board has that, and it flags the post with "USER WAS SUSPENDED UNTIL XXXX FOR THIS POST"
Most of these fucking idiots won't bother to wait around for 30 days.
It must be me getting older, but for a long time I was in the "Haus/Flyboy/etc.. can sometimes be assholes when dealing with people on the forum" camp, now I say fuck it. Anyone who spends 10 minutes browsing the boards should be able to figure out what they should and should not say. I still think snarky responses to trolling activity amounts to feeding the trolls, but for fucks sake, 5 pages in the policy? This isn't the death penalty people, we aren't going to find out in a month that the guy wasn't being an ass and feel bad about it. |
