GAY Pride chiefs are to screen the final episode of Doctor Who in Trafalgar Square — to keep some of the show’s most devoted fans at the festival.
The eagerly-anticipated finale is broadcast on June 30 — the same day as the annual celebration in London.
Doctor Who is a huge hit in the gay community and organisers feared thousands of camp followers would stay at home to watch the climax of the BBC1 saga.
Fuck off.
If you travel enough, you've seen it all -- and possibly some of the awful things that can happen while traveling will have actually happened to you. But nothing I've read about or experienced comes close to what Monica Emmerson experienced while at Reagan National Airport on June 11th while traveling with her 19-month-old toddler. This isn't one of those Catch-22 bureaucratic snafus; this isn't about rules being applied to the letter. This story is mostly about what can happen simply because the authorities in charge decide that they're going to exercise their authority because they can, regardless of whether it's legal or right or makes any sense at all.
And if this can happen to a former law enforcement officer with the United States Secret Service, it can happen to anyone.
The story linked above can fuck off too.
And now for my issue.
I feel bad about constantly bringing this up, but you know teh housemates? You know their (hateful, racist, homophobic) Israeli chum?
Dude owes one of the housemates (his best friend) money. Dude won't pay up. Dude has a history of not paying up, has had ti be bailed out of trouble by rich parents before now. His excuse, for not paying up now? Oh, "some Asians" robbed him "the other night". Note that he said this over the phone, which somehow wasn't mugged even though his wallet allegedly was. I ask housemate if he actually beleives that. Of course he does. "You know what it's like round here", he says. Anyway, his best mate wouldn't lie to him, would he? Fuck's sake.
That's not all though. Now they've got a new friend from Malta.
Apparently there's trouble with immigration to Malta. I don't know what the exact story is, because all I hear is this little degenerate shit sitting smugly in my living room saying "Yeah, we need to shoot the n*ggers", or saying he's glad because "Another boatload of n*ggers got shot". I told housemate, quietly, to sort his friend out, assuming it's not hard to appreciate why I don't want that language in my living room. Housemate doesn't appreciate this at all.
So basically, I could really do with knowing what is going on in Malta, in order to combat this stuff, and I can't seem to find anything on the BBC site. Does anyone know anything about the situation?
And if the bad-talking continues (I'm not averse to a debate about immigration, but I'm not standing for people to throw around speech like that), am I within my rights to chuck the guy out of the house? |
