I'm barbannoyed that the Grant's influence on your life thread has been locked. Grant, in this case, being Grant Morrison.
While it's true that Barbelith isn't a Morrison fan-site etc etc, it does seem a bit much to shut down the possibility of this discussion taking place in its own dedicated Comics thread. Deviant's first post may not be brilliantly written and is a bit skimpy on detail (maybe this is a language thing - ze mentions living in France prior to moving to the UK, then Africa), but it's not mean-spirited, or offensive. And it's not as if ze has proposed a suite of separate threads, each focused on how, say, Zoids, or Really & Truly, or those ghosted issues of Millar's Authority have changed one's life. Isn't Barbelith a broad enough church, and a robust enough community to allow Deviant to talk about this with whoever would like to join hir? If nobody wanted to, the thread would have died anyway. If they did, it would still have been a single thread which any uninterested reader could happily ignore. |
