I'd like Dickie to win, but I don't think he's a) demonstrated that he'd be suitably transformed by winning, and b) got a hope in Hell. Aisleyne would, could and, IMHO, should.

VOTE AIS!

In a way, even though she's been dead mopey and self-centred over the last ten days or so, Ash has definitely had a better j**rn*y than the gurning provincial and perhaps even plain needs the win better than perfect Pete - BB is normally pretty good at providing the 'neediest' contestant with the win; the cover of the Record today informs me she and he are 'neck and neck', and I can definitely get behind voting for A-sha-leen! even if only to prove heaven does not, indeed, exist.

You could also vote AISLEYNE if only for the joy you will have in watching the shit storm it kicks off among the "Ash H8ers" on DS..

Does anyone know what's happened tonight to occasion a) Aisleyne crying in the garden*, and then b) Richard telling her they've all been called inside and have to close the doors, saying "I think they're clearing them out now". Nikkists in the grounds?

*Even I, who supported her before it was mainstream, admit that not much has to happen to occasion this.

I think it's got to do with the housemates giving speeches on why other housemates should win, and Ash getting stage fright and not giving the best speech evar!!! for Pete, and everyone ganging up on her for it.

Oh, I see. And you can see Aisleyne "letting Pete down" (as even Richard apparently said she had done) here. Inevitably, she does no such thing.

Spurred by the acieed link there, convincing evidence if ever there was, I have sent my second and third ever BB votes the way of Aisleyne. There ain't no heaven above for little boys who pander.

He's actually been a bit rubbish for a while now.

Did anyone else think, when Nikki got cross that Big Brother had not gone with the task ideas she suggested, that it was hardly unfair of her to expect the makers of the show to bend over backwards to accomodate her wishes? After all, they've done it once...

The upcoming finale is starting to remind me of General Elections pre-Blair ~ eg. the 1992 one that I think Morrissey referred to in "Glamorous Glue". "We won't vote Conservative, because we never have, everyone lies" By which I mean, it is hard to find anyone online now who doesn't say they're voting Aisleyne, and polls say she's edged ahead ~ but you still can't quite bring yourself to believe it, let alone feel complacent.

They're never going to accept my ideas involving a big, hungry bear. I understand this now. I expect nothing. NOTHING.

(incidentally, the bear was going to be the kind of bear that spits angry bees. But no- they weren't up for it. Wankers).

The Falcon
22:09 / 16.08.06
Well, yeah. She's behaved like a spoiled little madam and received excessive reward and praise for it thus far, and so naturally will continue in such a manner, only more so. Quite unlovely demonstration of Pavlovian behaviour, really. Still, she's only going to be 5th or something, 4th at best, so it'll be a small victory.

Does anyone know what's happened tonight to occasion a) Aisleyne crying in the garden

Someone dropped a hat?

(She's my favoured AntiPope/AntiPete, but the crying does make me a little eyerolley. I'd rather see more of Fuck-You-Up Aisleyne at these moments.)

It sounds like today went exactly as you might expect, given Pete's recent behaviour: Nikki furious that her Petey hadn't been eulogised enough, Pete then also sulking, saying his chances to win have been blown and PRAYING TO GOD FOR HELP, Richard therefore deciding Pete had been hard done by and "comforting" Aisleyne in his even-handed way, which of course is all taken by self-esteem less Ais as further evidence that she's made a terrible mistake - Glynn and Jennie no help to her, quite the opposite.

The good thing is, even if she comes second to Pete, Aisleyne will be over the moon to do so well. I just want her to win to, well, upset Nikki really.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
22:18 / 16.08.06
AFAICT, she didn't give Pete a very good speech, and nobody has spoken to her in a sociable way since. Shame, really, as this afternoon she was great smoothing over Jennie's paranoia about her boyfriend, but that's probably not gonna be what makes it to the show...

Re: winning to upset Nikki, yes but also:

» The cutaway to Grace, Mikey and Lisa (and Sezer?)’s faces when her name is announced as winner would be the best Big Brother moment of all time.

You know what else is good about Aisleyne? She's not a 'maybisexual'; in fact, I don't think any of the women this year were, which is a refreshing change.

Ganesh
22:27 / 16.08.06
Well, the whole existence of Heaven was hanging on Aisleyne's speech, so Disappointing Pete should be a crime punishable by social death - shouldn't it? I'm surprised Big Brother didn't introduce a 'twist' whereby Pete's mother entered the House to explain in person why he is the risen Christ.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK

You may mock, Ganesh, but were they to actually do that it would win my vote. Since Aaron Spelling died a few weeks back our screens have been devoid of that kind of transcendence. DEVOID, I tell you.

Unless, of course, Glyn was being eaten by a bear at the same time. In which case the bear/Glyn/eating thing would win.

Fuck it, none of this cool shit's gonna happen, is it? I'll vote for Aisleyne then.

Alex's Grandma
22:45 / 16.08.06
By which I mean, it is hard to find anyone online now who doesn't say they're voting Aisleyne, and polls say she's edged ahead.

Well the latest odds from William Hill, who haven't put a foot wrong this year in terms of predictions, have Pete at 2/9, and Aisleyne at 4/1.

So Aisleyne would seem like the underdog here, but in spite of Pete's in all ways loathsome visionary/sexual rapture this week (he's invoked his music, his Mum, he's invoked his Nikki, his brother, and now God,) I still couldn't bring myself to vote for her - In the words of Nick Cave; 'Don't turn on your waterworks babe/Cause I got me a set of waterwings, right?'

I will not be texting 'Aisleyne.'

Ganesh
22:47 / 16.08.06
I could certainly see Glyn embarking on a j**rn*y which culminated in his being eaten by (bee-breathing) bears. That'd be fierce, babe.

They have to spit bees. Or it's no good.

I have faith in the bears. They'll do it for me. Or there's no heaven. Or the terrorists have won. Or something. Anyhoo, the bears will spit bees at Glyn. Then eat him. Then we can all go home. YAY!!!

No, no, Pete, what's scuppered your chances is your REACTION to Aisleyne's speech...

It'll be very interesting to see how the highlights play out tonight. Sadly I will be in the pub.

Ah yes, 84444 is the number to which one should text AISLEYNE, isn't it?

I think I've voted about five times so far. But I did get spectacularly drunk last night. If, next month, I have a bill like a pelican it wil be Aisleyne's fault.

Because I will have been dialling 09011 32 33 14.

Or possibly texting AISLEYNE to 84444.

Ganesh - I think rich was being two-faced in that instance because the condom anecdote seemed to render his comments about glyn's new found manhood insincere. i don't see glyn's great spurt of maturity in the first place, so i'm not really sure.

Producers biased against ashleyne? http://www.dailystar.co.uk/news_detail.html?sku=324

vote for Ash!

Shrug's aisleyne link makes me want to copy and paste the whole thing, as i forgot how good ais's best moments had been. or will that get me shouted at for overweighting the forum?
