Blair’s latest statement sounded like he was trying to connect the bombings as being against the anti-poverty thing. Nobody yet voicing the much simpler connection between a certain piggy-eyed Texan fuckwit being in the country and bombs going off here.

If you're watching BBC, how wooden did the G8 lot look? Bush only moved his eyes.

One of my British friends, in a moment of dark humor, blamed it on the French.

BBC have got Paddick on now saying he's fairly sure it's limited to four locations, but people leaving the Tube system by different exits have given rise to other reports.

Not to go off-point, but it seems true...

Israel was warned just before the attacks.

From a poster to Indymedia: "I should add there's a big Israeli Economic Conference at a Liverpool St Hotel today - now cancelled, but the 250 guests included Benjamin 'Bibi' Netenyahu (sp?) and the Israeli ambassador."

Hmm.

Opinions?

One of my British friends, in a moment of dark humor, blamed it on the French.

I'm sure that sentiment occurred to several of us.

Okay it looks like there were only 4 incidents but because people were exiting from diffirent tube stations have made it look worse. Deputy Police Commissioner on the BBC.

OK, who wants a wager on the eventual "official" suspects. Iran would be handy for Tony and George, no?

I was wondering why a bomb would go off in Edgeware Road so far from the others. One of those terroist expert guys was just on Sky News saying the Police Anti Terrorist Unit is across the road from that station, which could explain it.

Tom Tit- I think that kind of thing needs confirming- remember the rumours about large numbers of Jews having the day off on September 11th? I'm fairly sure they turned out to be bollocks.

Just heard two reported dead so far. This is terrible. Some terrorist expert said they were time bombs and not suicide bombers.

Apparently there are signs on all the roads into London saying:

"Avoid London. Area closed. Turn on radio"

Thanks to all who've checked in, it's a load off my mind seeing you're okay. Lurid Archive is in the UK, he phoned earlier to let me know he's all right.

Can't help thinking of all the people who won't be getting a call like that. Nice one Blair you evil piece of shit, I hope you realise this is your fucking fault.

I'm getting freaked out every time I hear sirens now. Which is stupid, cos they're constant in Hackney on a normal day.

Please don't make me think of the possibilities. Please.

Stoatie - That link goes to Arutz Sheva - the Israel National News. They're reporting it as fact. I was just looking for opinions, not trying to say it has anything to do with the people of Israel.

Met Police spokesman has just confirmed on Sky News that there where 3 Explosions on the Underground and 1 on a Bus. So the total is 4 Confirmed.

Not seven? Good. Some twat on Indymedia was blaming it on the Masons due to the 7/7/7 madness. Feh.

Oh, TT- I wasn't having a go at you, honest. I don't know what to think at the moment.

(Just for the record, though I still believe the thing about loads of ATF agents having the day off when the Murrah Building was destroyed).

Looked like he was forgetting what he wanted to say.

Oh, he got the important buzzwords in there. Our way of life. Want to impose extremism on the world. Civilised nations.

S'okay, I think we're all a little tense, man.

I find this really upsetting, obviously. Nobody's Girl has family in London, one of them working near the attacks, and we've heard nothing. I'm sure they'll all be fine in the end.

They seem to be steering well clear on the BBC of drawing a link with the Olympic bid, but they have just pointedly gone to Usedtoberedbutnowjustabitofadick Ken in Singapore giving a statement.

An expert interviewed on the BBC a moment ago said that the attack has been claimed by an islamist group operating from within Europe. Obviously lots of groups are going to claim an attack this big, but this lot seem to be the main lead at the moment. Worryingly, in the same statement there were unspecific threats against Holland and Italy. I really don't know what to make of that.

Perhaps we could do with a spot of light relief.

Says it's very contrasting that he and his colleagues are working on the AIDS problem, poverty, and helping the world's environment while on the other hand terrorists are killing people. Try to find a word by word transcript in a sec.

So, when Bush bombs and kills innocent Iraquis, is that okay? Do folks have to be white? Fuck him.

[ gallows humour ]IOC confirm explosions will not affect the UK running the Olympics in 2012. I know that clean-up will take a while but even London will have tidied up this mess by then...

Ganesh- Probably non-alcoholics, too.

ITV News says 10 dead at Kings Cross, and I just heard the phrase "reports of decapitated bodies". I'm pretty sure the BBC are still on "2 confirmed", though.

Macgyver,

everyone I've spoken to seems ok. I spoke to Beauchamp who told me Harrison is sleeping, sis is ok etc no word from Buckley- but as everything seems to have been central and city based i'm assuming he's ok- being in south london? will try calling him shortly...

smoothly- i'm in my office (Dean Street) at the mo so i don't know about CX road- Tottenham court road was still open though when i got into work at around 10.50 - so I'm assuming that its still open. However with the amount of bomb scares going on i wouldn't be suprised if certain areas get cordened off/ roads get shut- I may potter over there in a bit when i go out to get lunch.

Its raining in a way only england can- in a constant slow grey drizzle, which adds to the depressing state of mind.

Half the office hasn't turned up, the director that i'm supposed to be working with is staying at home- but the workaholics insist we soldier on. I think i'm going to try to lead a breakout for a long pub lunch. its too fucking depressing here.

Denfield- you were asking how good a target they were.. Well in terms of casualtys and business the tubes are pretty much essential- london is a very overcrowded city and the tube system is famously shit/ overcrowded.

Once the tubes shut everyone jumped on the buses leading to them being seriously over crowded (outside Kentish town station i estimate there where around 300-400 people waiting for a bus) the buses that i saw were'nt stopping anymore as they were rammed to capacity- which means people standing through out the bus- I could see people standing on the top floor of many of the buses which isn't normally allowed- i hope i'm not seen as being alarmist but i think that the casualties will be huge...

Impressed by the "nil desperandum" attitude of Londoners being interviewed on BBC right now.
