Hmm. I read the third volume todya, and re-read the other two.
I like this story, and I want to like all of it, but the Frankenstein one just had me wanting to be ill. It was classic Invisibles-sort of stuff (I expected King Mob to blow off Uglyhead's...errr...head...at some point), but at the same time it was by far the most disgusting off the seven books.
Zatanna continues to be pretty cool, though. I liked the Mr. Miracle stuff. It was a weird but kind of nifty take on the New Gods.
The Bulleteer was great. That was pure laughs. I kind of miss Shining Knight, though.
Klarion, though, is proving to be my favourite next to Zatanna. That weird occult American Gothic feel to it is wonderfully done, though I still think that Zatanna's duel in Slaughter Swamp was also pretty dan cool.
Its a weird comic. Kind of mind bendy. And I'm always trying to figure out what parts of continuity it touches on that I don't know about...which is where my confusion often comes into play. I don't know what Morrison has changed (or, more to the point, how the Sheeda have altered the DC universe the characters exist in) and what is based on past continuity. |
