am I the only person that thinks General grevous looks like a shit character- a baddy in the mould of Jar Jar Binks? Too much CG (for the kidz i believe) and not enough scarey shit? Didn't Lucas once cuss Peter Jackson as IMDB were the only people that could've made Lord of the rings- yeah george the best CG in the world (titters into his hand...)

Greivous mostly looks like shit, and continues in the prequel trilogy of having villains with names that seem more appropriate to a Heavy Metal sequel than a SW one (Maul, Tyrannus, and now Greivous). he looks OK in a few shots in the Clone Wars cartoons, but the animation style there is key.

however, even including the General, this looks like it will suck much less than Ep II, which in turn sucked much less than Ep I. many parts, i am cautiously predicting, will actually ROCK.

I saw the melty Anakin pic and wondered how on earth they could get that through as a U rating (I think clone wars was a PG over here?- the first non U rating from all the star wars films)

still could be the kick in the arse the films have needed- blood n gutz could be a saving grace from a shitty script, a fat sith and a dancing robot general with light sabers.

There's one really quite interesting point in those spoiler pics.

This is the first time it's actually been made clear that Sidious is Palpatine.

I know it's patently clear to anyone with sense, but I've seen TheForce.Net clans insisting that "we don't know Siddy is Palpy yet!!11" -- apparently he is never listed as Sidious/Palpatine in the credits, and there is some possibility, however unlikely, that they're not one and the same person.

I am pretty sure this is the first image showing Palpatine, cowl off, sitting in what looks like the Emperor's throne and cackling at a battle between his Sith -- making it absolute that he's been living a dual life and is now "coming out" as the bad guy.

the fatty sith realy strikes me as incongruous what about the 'always two with the sith there are' shit that the green gremlin says in the first one? - there's enough baddies to get through already isn't there? having another sith guy roll in at this late stage seems like they're just trying to shoehorn in some extra characters to have in the telly series later, OR, perhaps fatso's the head of the sith and palpatine is the challenger, waiting to step in as ruler of the republic and sith primus, with the galaxy's baddest jedi as his apprentice. stupid how much i care really.

I'm constantly amazed how much good will Lucas has squandered.
For example, the other day I'm sitting in the cinema and the RotS trailer comes on. After it's all over the guy sitting next to me turns to his mate and says, "that looks shit. I fucking hate Lucas."
Now, to my mind the trailer really doesn't look shit. It shows nothing that's likely to get fans' backs up, but here you have a guy who can't see past the fact that Lucas has really let him down - twice.

Back in the Spring of '99 who would have thought that the trailer for the final SW film would meet with that kind of reaction from a man in his late twenties?

Is that really that much of a surprise to anyone? No offense, but it seemed like there was about a 75-80% that they were the same person in Ep's I and II. And I didn't have a lot of expectation that Lucas would surprise me.
