Brutus's original link was busted: it's been edited since.

I withdraw the question. Shut up.

That's a fantastic line you've got there, Brutus. Splendid Jenny, too.

Suedey, Suedey. That's delicious. So when will she be unleashed? Or is that an impossible question?

I'm an ARTIST and NOTHING I do is ever going to be quite good enough!

Um, that just means I don't know.

very nice!

I am currently putting the finishing touches on page 7 of an 8-page short story written by Alex Thoth...I know I've mentioned this before on this thread, forgive me, I've just gotta get the thing done and putting it on here reminds me to make that happen. I look forward to sharing it with you all once it's done.

Thought I'd pop in and chase away the tumbleweed with this:

It's going on the back of a Shifter comic currently in production by a couple of chaps in the US. What's more, 'twas a fine excuse to re-visit a few of my old favourites.

It's good to know there's someone out there running around with the baton, eh? What with us lot having apparently dropped it...

Or have we?

SPACE!

I've lost touch with two artists who have scripts.

But... SPACE! YOU HAVE SPACE!

Jesus. You are teh god, Nelson.

As for me, promises promises, huh? What actually happened was that a lot of things interfered and I kept running out of time but as of this month things will be less hectic and I will continue on with the pages that should not take too long to complete.

I promise. And you are teh god, Nelson.

Yup, I've said elsewhere to Suedey, if I ever start a band then I'm naming the first single: (I'm so jealous of) Nelson Evergreen.

Um..... I'm not dead! I've PM'd grant but basically I'm still working on his script.

I know. I know.

It should hopefully have been worth the wait. I think you all should at least find something that you like in it.

And yes..... that's is about a year and a half ago that I started a nine-page (I think....fourteen, broken up by my layouts) comic. From what I said then.....

I think that producing artwork for somebody else could be a good experience. Having somebody's expectations on me might give me a boot up the arse too.

... the first sentance is perfectly true. The second?

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

So pleased to hear Jenny's still on the radar for you chaps, what with your previews a page back being proper things of joy. Hate to see good things going unfinished.

Stuff gets in the way, doesn't it? I know it all too well. Bloody stuff.

A friend of mine wrote a Shifter comic a while back - a crackling, witty, intelligent script which, after a lengthy and doomed search for an artist, she went ahead and drew herself. The illustrations are spectacularly untutored, and the dialogue is spectacularly literate. It works a treat. I'll ask her if I can scan it and post a link, it'd be good for people to see a fresh Jenny tale.

I would like to see that very much.

I have two Jenny projects on the cards after this is finished. One is another collaberation with grant (not a comic) and the other is a fairly small animated thing that I think is pretty original. If it works the same way in execution as it does in my head, then it'll be very, very special.

That's a wee ways away yet.

While I won't be posting anything else of it 'till it's finished, I can post a coloured version of one of those previews a page back, for those yet to see it....

So much Jenny radness to behold. Real pretty colours there i-bomb.

I'm imagining "(I'm so jealous of) Nelson Evergreen"...

Like when Kate Bush celebrated the work of Elton John when she covered "Rocket Man".

Or like the beautiful day David Lee Roth paid homage to the Beach Boys.

Just because little thrills me more than a slice of 1960s pop heaven recast in the magical flourescent glow of 1985.

Can't wait for y'all to read my comic when Nelson scans and posts it for us.

My story is ALMOSSSTT done!!! Just gotta ink the last page.

Nelson, that drawing is most beautiful indeed. Will this be a published Jenny Everywhere comic/compliation? Can we buy it via mail when it comes out??

GO GO JENNY EV. POWER!!!

ohhh, I see - Nelson's drawing shows Batcerial Lunarversity, Nelson's story with the kids at the club and Starbucks robots, 'the Death of Jenny Everywhere', and maybe...Alex Thoth's Shiva-related Jenny story? So it IS a compilation/anthology of Jenny stories, then?

and nice colors on that, iamus!

Good stuff FinderWolf. Looking forward to the big unveiling...

The comic in question is an original self contained JE story, about 22 pages or so; my composite contribution was just a doff of the cap to a few favourite stories (shame I couldn't squeeze in Mrs Zirma or MBV, bah). The writer plans for it to be ongoing, which is heartening. I'll let y'all know about availability when it appears.

Gretchen's tale is scanned in, I'll add navigation and upload it in a couple of days. Be back with a link then.

iamus, you're a screaming palette banshee. Love those colours.

I've long admired this project from afar... But there's a lot to read and I'm a little unsure of the "rules" (so to speak).

Erm... Threfore, I have a genuine, " I wanna get involed"-type of question:

Is it cool to just place "Jenny" in one's own pre-existing narratives; or even with another artist from somewhere, who's "jenny" orientated to some degree, to draw a new Jenny version of an old pre-existing story of one's own?

iamus
18:06 / 12.09.06
I'm sure Jenny wouldn't have a problem with that. Just include her paragraph.

paranoidwriter waves hello
18:37 / 12.09.06
Class. I'll think more on it, and put Jenny (almost) Everywhere, elsewhere as well, from now on.

I'll try remeber to include the paragraph as well, whenever possible.

Indeed, cheers: comrades. Very nice idea. Count me in.

Hmm... Funnily enough, "I know a song about that..."

Good idea.

"Whisky in the Jar?"

Oh man, that's a whole big load of fun.

That Jenny is great. I love the hair. She looks like some mad techno-futurist.

You need to draw lots more, gretchen. There's a really intuitive, beautiful style there that's just waiting for the hand to catch up with it. You've actually sent me to the sketchbook with some ideas, so ta for that.

Thanks Nelson you're a goodun. Ta also iamus, I like your style lots, and good luck with the new sketches. I'm getting better at the drawing of pictures... I'm currently quite enjoying copying facial expressions from Ghost World.

Hey gretchen!

I picked up a copy of the freak issue in Sticky, in Melbourne, years ago (one? two?), and recently found it in a stack o' comix and re-read it. loved it muchly.

i wanna do a jenny, but i got a creative backlog like you wouldnae believe, so i'm still just a spectator at this point.

also, evergreen, you just gave me my new desktop wallpaper. kudos as always.
