Aww, I was gonna grill you for specs and live vicariously though your technology.

What the hell was that home improvement kid's name... J.T.T. is the shorter, bruntettier one. I can't remember what the frat looking one is called.

ONLY NICE THINGS
00:06 / 16.10.02
Well, that's easy enough. It's a Mustek generic scanner, powered and connected through USB1, with a fairly standard 1200x600 (?) scan and OCR software...

The Strobe
00:13 / 16.10.02
I'm in. Free drinks for university newspaper pimpage, catching up with old friends, and then mucho Jack and Coke (we're on first name terms) in a friends room. Awesome day - rocking essay handed in, very satisfying, Wagner lecture was supoib, and fun night. Happy day

Mazarine

Okay, I had to look it up, it would have gnawed through my brain until I did- Zachary Ty Brian. Or Bryant. I don't remember, something like that.

Haus- Flatbed, I take it?

The Strobe
00:18 / 16.10.02
Maz: handscanners are so 1993...

ONLY NICE THINGS
00:18 / 16.10.02
Natch. Since its main purpose will eventually be the recording of old photographs and writing, the whole paper feed thing was never going to be a goer. Have so far managed a truly scary scan of Methylsalicylate, late of this parish.

The Return Of Rothkoid
00:20 / 16.10.02
Aw, rock! Did you go to The Mountain Goats gig too, Haus?

I still have hir Ass Sex trivets here...

ONLY NICE THINGS
00:23 / 16.10.02
Again, although every molecule of my beign is screaming out against this question, I feel a terrible compulsion gripping me.

What in the name of Peter Fuck are Ass Sex trivets?

The Strobe
00:24 / 16.10.02
Exactly what they say on the tin. Trivets. Which read "Ass" and "Sex".

Mazarine
00:24 / 16.10.02
Have you invested in the nice glossy paper to reprint said photos, or is this more for archivaly digital purposes?

ONLY NICE THINGS
00:25 / 16.10.02
Primarily archival, although I have been experimenting with pretty shiny papers. I want to make Barbelith top trumps. I feel it would be amusing.

The Strobe
00:26 / 16.10.02
Surely for all the wrong reasons, though? And what are the categories anyway? (I think I'm off to bed).

Mazarine
00:27 / 16.10.02
Oh, but I wanna hear the answer to that one too.

ONLY NICE THINGS
00:29 / 16.10.02
I feel a new thread coming on....

But perhaps tomorrow. For I am the Haus of Sleepy. Night all.

Mazarine
00:30 / 16.10.02
Goodnight, oh pale one. May flights of wrong reasons sing the to thy rest.

I apologize. I am stupid today, and I blame the fact that all the coffee I have had today has been terrible.

Mazarine
00:31 / 16.10.02
Good night to you too, Haus. Thanks for the scanner talk. Normally I have to pay three dollars a minute for that sort of thing.

The Return Of Rothkoid
00:31 / 16.10.02
Like Ninjas vs Pirates but with more Invisible-ness?

Mazarine
00:35 / 16.10.02
"I'll trade you two Ganeshes and a Kali for a Tom and a JtB"

We'd have to package them with gum.

Trijhaos
00:37 / 16.10.02
Good gum, or that hard crumbly crap they used to package with baseball cards?

Do they still stick gum in with cards?

Mazarine
00:38 / 16.10.02
Damned if I know. What could the categories be... the deep versus the shallow? Those who take them seriously versus those who like tuna in a tin?

If it's Barbelith, it has to be good gum.

If there were a game called Barbelith-Ball, how would you play and what would the rules be?

Murray Hamhandler
00:40 / 16.10.02
'Snot late, as such, but I'm here nonetheless. Avoiding schoolwork like the proverbial plague. Anyone still about?

Mazarine
00:40 / 16.10.02
Themselves. Themselves seriously. Bastard coffee.

Mazarine
00:41 / 16.10.02
Top of the even'n to you Deric. How was your day?

The Return Of Rothkoid
00:41 / 16.10.02
Wow. I'd be such a low-scoring card it's untrue. "How about seventeen RoRs? For a Filthbeer? Anyone? Anyone?"

Hmmmm.

Mazarine
00:44 / 16.10.02
Oh please, honey, your stock is way more valuable than that. I, on the other hand, would be the equivelant of a damn land card in Magic the Gathering.

Trijhaos
00:45 / 16.10.02
Do people still collect cards? I know kids around here are always at the local comic book shop playing Pokemon and buying new decks, but I can't remember anybody actually going in and buying a pack of baseball cards.

Mazarine
00:47 / 16.10.02
Me neither. I haven't seen a baseball card collection since I was like, ten.

Mazarine
00:55 / 16.10.02
Maybe cause baseball's boring. You could light the bats on fire and it'd still put me to sleep.

The Return Of Rothkoid
00:59 / 16.10.02
Suure. Flaming bats and napalm grenade balls; THERE is a national pastime. I'd watch that.

It'd be RammsteinBall.

Trijhaos
00:59 / 16.10.02
I find most sports boring. I just don't "get" sports, I guess. I think baseball would be more interesting if the bat was used as a weapon. First baseman in the way? No problem, bash him in the head with the bat and continue on to second base.

Mazarine
01:07 / 16.10.02
I dunno. Soccer/football works for me. One goal, one point. Stoppage only for serious things or for half-time. Shirts. Shorts. Socks. Shoes. Shinguards. Nothing I can't identify.

Mazarine
01:08 / 16.10.02
And a ball. Which is ball shaped. Can't forget the ball-shaped ball.

Trijhaos
01:14 / 16.10.02
The only sport that really interests me is fencing. Alas, distance (it's an hour's drive to the nearest studio) and funds (no job = no money) keep me from my dream of becoming a modern day musketeer.

Mazarine
01:18 / 16.10.02
I've been batting around the idea of hooking up with an exclusively saber club in the area, once I get out of debt.

The Return Of Rothkoid
01:24 / 16.10.02
Lightsabres?

Where? Where? En garde! *zzzzzt*

Oops. I appear to have sliced off your arm. My bad. Point yours.
