The other one's six pages, so why not.

Anyone else home on a Saturday night?

The Strobe
00:46 / 06.10.02
Yep. I'm here. A bit less pissed than yesterday, when I was wankered out of my fucking skull, and have just (for once in my life) met a really lovely girl who didn't find me entirely boring and dreadful. So I'm feeling quite good. Well knackered though, it being ten to three.

Lilith Myth
00:51 / 06.10.02
I'm kinda here, but really hoping I can get to sleep soon. It being ten to three (and is there honey still for tea? shit, I'm showing my age/class/something)

Mazarine
00:52 / 06.10.02
Oh, yay, lovely girl meetings are good. I'm actually getting a little writing accomplished on a story I've had writers block on for a while. Also a happy.

The Strobe
00:55 / 06.10.02
Nice on one the story, Maz. I think I'm going to turn in, being rather tired. And after last night, where I was just monstered, a better night's sleep would be great. I'm a little broken at the moment. See you all later.

Duuuude.... Brains.......

Night Paleface.

01:24 / 06.10.02
Different continent.

Just got back from a day of school clothes shopping, Indian cuisine, and a John K. cartoon festival, and now I'm taking an hour out before I hit the bars. Man, it's good to finally get that student loan.

Mazarine
01:27 / 06.10.02
These threads just exist to make me jealous of you, don't they, Moriarty? What kinda clothes didja buy?

Mazarine
01:33 / 06.10.02
Well, I've just had a very sweetly put request for attention from my sweetie, and Inuyasha's on in thirty minutes, so off I go. Ta darlings.

moriarty
02:01 / 06.10.02
Jealous? No. I'm discovering that my taste in clothes is pretty mediocre. I checked out come snazzy "street" clothes, 555-soul stuff. Then I realized I'm an old man and it would look silly. So, Peter Parker style blue suits for me! Though I am looking for a pair of jeans.

Baz Auckland
02:37 / 06.10.02
It's only about 1130 here, but I think I'm heading out. Alone, which I think is a first. I don't feel like writing about Venetian writers any more tonight and am feeling a bit restless.

The Return Of Rothkoid
23:31 / 06.10.02
Well, I'm here. It's a public holiday in Australia, and of course, I'm at work.

Sigh.

Lilith Myth
23:55 / 06.10.02
I'm kinda here but really need to get some sleep. Why are you working if it's a public holiday, Rothkoid? Surely the two are mutually exclusive?

The Return Of Rothkoid
00:37 / 07.10.02
Not if you work on a weekly magazine with an early-week A-section deadline they're not.

the Fool
03:27 / 07.10.02
Well, I'm here. It's a public holiday in Australia, and of course, I'm at work

Roth, Its not a holiday down here in Melbourne. Is it a Sydney thing?

The Return Of Rothkoid
03:52 / 07.10.02
Must be. But that's prolly 'cos you get Cup Day off, you bastards.

The Return Of Rothkoid
13:36 / 07.10.02
So now, I'm up late and nobody's around.

Oh, the humanity.

6:20, and playing reruns of Brass Eye and The Day Today. I gotta catch a train to London in 5 hours...

the Fool
04:09 / 08.10.02
3.07pm Melbourne time. At work. Checking out Michael Lau figures. Wondering if they are really worth blowing a whole months rent on (they are so prweeeddyy!)...

It is 2:15 am. I cannot sleep

Just finished some speak & spell and now I feel wired and sick.

Will this Cosmic Hangover NEVER go away!

Saint Keggers
05:11 / 08.10.02
2:07 am here... just starting on the heated redwine. Had to take the garbage out and its cold out..so this is like medicine..yeah that its.

ONLY NICE THINGS

I don't mean to be dim, but is Speak and Spell the hip young kids' talk for something, or are we actually talking about the real thing, the talking tablet that is educational and fun?

The Return Of Rothkoid
06:56 / 08.10.02
Mmm. Slightly reheated carbonara and A-section deadlines. And the discovery that the Theatresports thing I was going to do is full.

Joyous.

Hahaha, I loved that thing! Err, still love that thing?

I still have a hangover.

Yeah Haus, very young and hip bah!

Geez Haus, how many centuries are you? Do tell...

"slightly reheated carbonara" sounds like a direct route to food poisoning - hope our Rothkoid's okay.

And May, I wondered the same - is this a kids thing, or some magick reference? I hope the hangover's evaporating either way.

It's not exactly 'late shift' time yet but I'm bored, sitting in a hotel room, drinking wine, not knowing anyone in town to go out and have fun with. Pah. So pleeeeze, someone talk to me?

The Return Of Rothkoid
19:34 / 08.10.02
Nah. Am ok. Better than slightly reheated marinara...

Set alarm to make a call - tis 6:30 - but no joy yet. Sigh. Fret.

Ariadne
19:42 / 08.10.02
You expect joy at 6.30 in the morning? strange boy. 6.30 in the morning means grumbling and spilling the milk when you try to pour it in your tea, and standing stupefied under the shower.

what time do you leave for work?

The Return Of Rothkoid
19:46 / 08.10.02
8:30. I was/am expecting joy from conversation, though, not wakefulness. Am currently posting from bed in some awful kinda "Murdered Marat In Bath Meets Bedlinen" kind of way...

Ariadne
19:48 / 08.10.02
Ah. Yeah, I kind of realised that but was just being silly. I'm posting from the desk at the end of my bed, in a hotel room decorated with strange botanical motifs interspersed with tartan. Not a relaxing combination.

And the man next door yells into his mobile in such a loud voice that I may go and biff him with a tartan bolster.

Good luck with the call.

The Return Of Rothkoid
20:05 / 08.10.02
Done. Smiling Rothkoid now. Like the Laughing Cavalier but with bedhead. Being over here kinda sucks, still, though - pout.

Actually, that reminds me of the best school report I ever got, though my parents never really thought so: an English teacher (of both subject and nationality) had written that I had "a cavalier attitude to work", which I thought was ace.

Hm.

I hope "botannical motif" means not "green printed bamboo on wallpaper". That was in a house I lived in once - eeeuw. (Speaking of which, "eeeuw" is a major women's magazine's accepted spelling of that term of disgust. Not "ew" or "eew". Three es, a u and a w.)

My sillinessomoter doesn't work properly in the mornings. It takes all my wherewithal not to kill commuters until I get a big tea...

Ariadne
20:20 / 08.10.02
Well, the walls are cream with little green leaf things, while the bedspread and curtains have enormous illustrations of plants with latin (I think) words next to them. A big asparagussy thing says 'codda pana lat'. And then tartan pillows to round it all off.
An example of Spanish interior design? Eeeuw just about sums it up.
Glad the phone call went well.

The Return Of Rothkoid
20:49 / 08.10.02
You're in the room of the giant dead-language asparagus?

Flee!

Mazarine
20:53 / 08.10.02
Well, I suppose this would be the late afternoon shift for me. Anyone up and about?

ONLY NICE THINGS
21:00 / 08.10.02
No bedtime in the Haus of Clocks.

Besides, it's only eleven. So I'm not exactly Doctor Rock.

Mazarine
21:03 / 08.10.02
Marvelous. Think your interview is ever going to end, or should I ask you that in the interview thread?
