STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
23:59 / 14.10.02
It'll TRULY rock... within the next couple of months, Stokey'll be full of people saying "Who IS that wanker?"

Glad to hear you're doing OK, Roth- what with your terribly sunny weather and all (sorry- I'm embittered. It's firework season, and Biscy doesn't wanna go out. AT ALL. I feel like such a bastard dragging her out, but she's gotta shit somewhere...)

Paleface- Wagner? Yeah. You GOTTA do that. (In a rather stupid reversal of cultural icons, I'd describe him as a pre-"dumb metal" Jim Steinman...)

The Strobe
00:04 / 15.10.02
Hell yeah. Four week course on Wagner in relation to Greek Tragedy, it sounds like the BOMB as far as I'm concerned. Right. Bed.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
00:06 / 15.10.02
Whoah. You're probably logged off (huh huh) already, but that sounds like the best course EVER.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
00:14 / 15.10.02
Think I should go to bed now (the fact that it took me 3 attempts to spell "should" properly seems to be a sign). I have to drive tomorrow and stuff, and I'm not even sure I remember how to...
...sleep good. Not as good as, say, beer, but pretty fucking good nonetheless.

The Return Of Rothkoid
00:24 / 15.10.02
Sleep very good. Although not when your laptop's on your bed and you fall asleep while using it, waking up only to periodically drop one-liners into IM conversations. Paleface can attest that I make a fucking weird nocturnal correspondent.

When I'm not just insomniac, that is.

ephemerat
01:43 / 15.10.02
Hey Roth: how's the Antipodean end of the cosmos? Am assuming you've already joined the slumbrous and the wise in avoiding all this tomfoolery but I'm practically a newcomer to these late (for me) night rambles...

The Return Of Rothkoid
01:57 / 15.10.02
Nah, 'rat. Am here at work. It's almost 1pm and I'm about to go out in search of musical placebo. Not that Molko bastard, though. Hmm.

Things here? Well, it's already been up to about 32 degrees and summer hasn't even started yet.

Will be around for a while...

Goodness Gracious Meme
22:23 / 15.10.02
allo, allo, allo

who's in this evening then?

ONLY NICE THINGS
22:25 / 15.10.02
Me, for a while anyway. Just back from drinks with schoolfriends, and pondering getting in touch with an old friend, and how to do so without seeming crapulous....

How's everyone?

Mazarine
22:41 / 15.10.02
Hi. I'm here. Good for me. Playing Bookworm on PopCap, trying to beat my former rank of Master Archivist.

The Return Of Rothkoid
22:53 / 15.10.02
YO, kids. Working on layouts about a Big International Event (well, for Australia, anyway), wondering exactly when these fecking Blundstones will stretch, and feeling pleasantly wistful after an early-morning, bleary-eyed phone-call to Someone Over There, who hopefully will show up online sometime while I'm at werk. Still feeling bad because of my insomnia, and because of wait-time, but have Big Rock Music Action keeping me buoyed.

Maybe.

Wondering if anyone else has read that Maya Deren voodoo book? Have been reading it for the past couple of days, and it's good.

How we all?

Mazarine
23:04 / 15.10.02
Buffy's on stateside, that's always a good. I promise I won't spoil. What's the big event, Roth?

The Return Of Rothkoid
23:07 / 15.10.02
Weeeeeell... can't really say zacktly. But think hot. And touristy. And clubby.

ONLY NICE THINGS
23:09 / 15.10.02
A seal cull? Fantastic!

Trijhaos
23:10 / 15.10.02
I hope tonight's episode is better than last week's; last week's seemed like a filler.

I really should be writing this explication for English just so I don't have to write a paper later on down the road, but damn, how am I supposed to write 1250 words on a Blake poem? Even if I did a line by line explication it'd only be around 800 words. Oh sure, I could do one of Wordsworth's poems, but I despise Wordsworth. Ick. From what I've read, an explication is supposed to be short. 1250 words isn't short.

The Falcon
23:14 / 15.10.02
What poem is it? If it's The Marriage of Heaven and Hell, there's loads there. If it's one of the Songs... , yer fucked.

The Return Of Rothkoid
23:24 / 15.10.02
*rimshot*

Hmmmmmmm. Alas, no sealife involved. Plenty of high explosive, though.

Trijhaos
23:25 / 15.10.02
It's either a poem from the songs or one of Wordsworth's evil poems. I understand the Blake stuff, but can't write 1250 words on a 25 line poem and I neither like nor understand Wordsworth's horribly long poems. Either way you look at it, I'm screwed. So, I'll just sit back, watch Buffy and then Smallville, and write an essay on something else; like one of Shaw's plays.

Mazarine
23:29 / 15.10.02
I can't talk. If I talk about it, I'll spoil, and that's what FTVT is for.

Hot, touristy and clubby... hrm. Co-ed naked seal cull? Naw. Heck, I dunno. Or maybe steam room.

Hey, grand archivist! I don't know if that's better than Master Archivist or not.

Doopey doopey doo.

Trijhaos
23:34 / 15.10.02
I tried Bookworm, but my library burned down after I hit level 4 and the game didn't recognize some of my words.

Mazarine
23:35 / 15.10.02
Hrm, Shaw plays... which one have you in mind, Tri?

ONLY NICE THINGS
23:36 / 15.10.02
It's very simple. Blake wanted free men to be able to think. If you were opposed to that principle, he would destroy your hands.

Honestly. What are they teaching kids these days?

Mazarine
23:38 / 15.10.02
How to cull seals without getting blood on your shoes. Duh.

Trijhaos
23:41 / 15.10.02
I'm thinking either Arms and Man or Candida .

Damn! My library burned down again.

The Return Of Rothkoid
23:42 / 15.10.02
Maz: nah, that's a simple matter of accesorising. No thongs.

The Return Of Rothkoid
23:42 / 15.10.02
Sorry, flip-flops.

Mazarine
23:46 / 15.10.02
Darn library burning. Darn flamable books. Darn unhelpful bespectacled worm. Hey, I think that kid used to be on Home Improvement. Wow. He got kinda puffy.

Mazarine
23:49 / 15.10.02
Silly me.

Haus, did you ever get that new scanner?

ONLY NICE THINGS
23:53 / 15.10.02
I don't want to ask but I feel that somehow I have to...what on Earth is this "bookworm" thing?

The Return Of Rothkoid
23:53 / 15.10.02
Hey - does anyone remember a game called Pyro? You had to burn your way through famous buildings in glorious EGA colour. It was fab.

Trijhaos
23:55 / 15.10.02
It does look like the kid from Home Improvement. What was his name? All I can think of is Johnathan Taylor Thomas and that's not it.

The dictionary file for this game is messed up. "Arf" is accepted as a word, but "Mia" isn't.

The Return Of Rothkoid
23:59 / 15.10.02
Sorry, Pyro 2. And it's available here. Perhaps a little - uh - ghoulish. But it's big-block ASCII! How can you see carnage?

NB: It will work in Win95 and up - honest. Play around with it a bit.

ONLY NICE THINGS
00:01 / 16.10.02
Maz - I did. So far it has done sterling work as a block of solidity beneath a huge pile of books, which is pretty much the role of all technology in the haus of Haus.

Mazarine
00:02 / 16.10.02
It's a game on popcap.com, it's kinda like tetris meets scrabble. Or maybe boggle. Sorta. You'd probably kick all our asses. Someone else probably posted this by now.

Trijhaos
00:02 / 16.10.02
I remember Pyro II. I may still have it on a 5 1/4 disk somewhere around here. Not that it does any good seeing as how I don't have a 5 1/4 drive installed anymore.

The game seemed fun, but I never got past the first screen.
