When you say "zoo", might you actually mean "theme park"? Cos that would be The Fillyjonk Who Believed In Disasters.

Snufkin has always been my anarchist hero, and (not wishing to diss my ACTUAL family, who rock) the Moomin family my ideal family.

Okay, so it's not central Brighton (superdooper expensive - 270k at least), but it's scant minutes away from the city centre by train or bus, and a 40 minute walk along the seafront. Yay yay yay yay yay!

Also, met Gumbitch's 3-week-old baby daughter today, and she fucking rocks, and so do her parents.

ROCK!

Renting would cost us about 100 quid more a month than buying will. Another reason for the happy.

I've just been to a lovely, lovely wedding and had a pretty much perfect day. The groom is an old friend who had seemed to be an eternal bachelor and whom I often thought might well end up drinking himself to death/eaten by cats, and instead he's married a fab woman who thinks he's fantastic AND she's pregnant, which is just fantastic.

Beautiful church, really nice service (including some interesting and touching Hindu marriage traditions), amazing canapes and champagne at the posh Langham Hotel, very good speech by groom, excellent cake, lots of time spent chatting with old mates I had not seen for years. Best of all, I managed to catch up with my ex (whom I had not seen or been in contact with since we split, somewhat acrimoniously, nearly two years ago) and it was great and friendly and everything's lovely. Literally everything.

Magic.

I've just got back from something quite similar, and in my case too, it was a lovely ceremony, and reception.

On reflection though, I do feel terrible about the kilt; what happened was unintentional, of course, but I can't help feeling I might have let Scotland down.

As it were.

Yeah, it was a theme park. Goes to show I should check my sources properly.

Well done on the house Boboss!

Thanks, favourite drudes.

You know what, Grant? It isn't even a repayment mortgage. Eeek!

Also, I checked the Land Registry site yesterday. It turns out that the vendors bought it for £137,000 in May '03, meaning they've made £75k (about $150k) in the sale.

Proof, if proof were needed, that Brighton is bloody insania.

It makes me happy that some of my favourite bands and artists are going to be playing at one of my favourite venues, and I'll once more get to play some of my favourite records in the bits when they're not on stage. All this on more than one night too.

Who are these bands, Django? I´m curious and always on the lookout for new music.

Some I can't talk about yet as it's not been confirmed for definite, but it should be fun if it happens.

The others are Faust (who will on this occasion be joined by Colin Potter of Nurse With Wound) and Charles Hayward, the deservedly legendary multi-talented percussionist and very nice man, who will be doing a show at the lovely Corsica Studios. Last time Faust played there, the venue was strewn with hay, scaffolding poles and chainsaws were wielded in defiance of a few health and safety directives, and the evening finished with a gout of smoke filling the venue with choking results. Who knows what they have planned for this time round.

Contemplative Practice and Post Modern Dance:
This course offers an approach to post-modern dance technique and choreography grounded in principles derived from Asian contemplative practice. Employing visualization and energy direction techniques derived from Tai Chi and other disciplines, students will learn a concept of movement beyond movement. Students will also learn an internally-based approach to post-modern choreography using the I Ching as a creative tool.

i love my university.

Best. Morning. Ever.

Woke up to the news that the UK Consulate in LA has just granted my fiancee a visa to come and get married to me, and inside of two months we're going to be starting our life together. All thanks to Flickr, the interwebs and too many flights to think about.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!

I am given a happy by the fact that I (occasionally) live in a city that has bookshop named "The Mainly Murder bookstore," complete with splattered blood paint effect which is located right next door to an olde style toy-shop.

This post from Sibelian in the Good Morning thread:

GOOD MORNING!

And what spankingly fine figure of a morning it is here in 2007, too! I feel like Stuart Hall on coke!

The daffs are daffing about, fluffy cotton-wool clouds are bustling busily away, my dwarf rose is poking dear little buds out of every available branch, it's my boyfriend's birthday and I'm taking him for breakfast to a sweet little jazz cafe in Stockbridge! Global warming has decided that it's July, not March, the sun's shining as if it's never done it before and is trying it out as a fab new fashion accessory and everything's BEAUTIFUL!

Here's lookin' at YOU, Barbelith.

Thanks Sibelian, it gives me a happy that you're looking forward to such an excellent day.

Thank you, Stoatie! I actually don't have the book in my hand. We are tracking it, as it was supposed to arrive yesterday. Funnily, I knew my partner was getting this book for me, months ago. He had never mentioned it, but I had asked him to look into it when he was on the westcoast, in B.C. He checked a Chapters, a rather large chain. The release date was pushed and pushed till finally, without letting me know, my partner secretly orders it, without telling me that it had been finally released. I just knew though...and I am so rambling on and on.

I also had to help the boys make my cake. A cherry cake. Gosh, they were both so well-intentioned...

And now, for the icing: this day has shown evey season to me. That gives me a happy, too.
