yeah, i've had my own share of near misses to IRA bombs, and narrowly avoided being hit by that nail bomb in old compton street a coupla years ago. it does make one kinda detached from this. just on saturday i was explaining to an australian guy that we don't have bins in stations because of terrorism....

if one were being facetious, one could make some comment about how typical it is that america has to have the ultimate of everything, even the worst ever terrorism. i wouldn't say it, but apparently some tourist did. that could be urban myth though.
