it hasn't been completely suspended. flight paths have been altered over london, private flights have been stoppee and all others have to be completely secure before leaving, i believe.

we have, particularly in London, pretty diverse ethnic makeup. There's a strong islamic community, and 99% of the people I know within it are quite comfortable with any apparent paradox arising from being british and islamic at the same time.

we've had and will continue to have problems from extremists on both sides but I think the UK is about the best example of a truly homogenous ethnic mix you're likely to find in the world right now. I'm currently praying (to a whole bunch of gods) that it stays that way.

The Camp David Accords were being negotiated at the time, but weren't signed until the 17th or 19th I think

Just heard that a co-founder of Akami technologies was on one of the Logan-LAX flights that attacked new york.

We may never know exactly how many flights were highjacked, when the airports closed some may have landed in Canada peacefully.
