Fnarr fnarr! Don't worry, you still support your own troops when they're lodging elsewhere.

I currently have 24 swordsman (attackers) and 15 Phalanxes (defenders), anyone nearer than 12 hours travel let me know if you need reinforcing or someone attacking.
Embassy is level 8 and growing, clay and wood would be handy, thanks to all donors!

I have experimented with quartering troops in other people's towns while I'm being attacked, but as far as I can tell, both towns end up paying upkeep.

I've sent some resources over, also, so, y'know, keep up the good work!

This is fun! No one has attacked me yet... are traps any use whatsoever? I have some biggish neighbors, but they seem to be leaving me alone at present.

I'm just building up my resources... I figure when I have them all at three I'll be good to make regular contribs to whomever needs them.

When you get hit by a raid, x number of your enemy's troops get taken out of the battle and the rest go up against your defense. You can then either release the trapped guys as a token of goodwill, demand a ransom for them, or let them sit there to rot. A subsequent normal attack against your village will free any trapped guys still in there, though. Traps don't work if there are no defenders left after the raid, since the non-trapped attackers can just waltz in and free their buddies I suppose.

I haven't been attacked yet either, but I think this is how it works.

That's pretty cool... sounds like it helps protect your defending troops, but you still definitely need an army for it to work. I'll get to work on that then. While I'm building up my resources...

Probably good news for most people - there's going to be a couple server-wide ceasefires for the holidays. The game will still run, but no attacks can be launched during these periods:

Midday on Monday 24th December to Midday on Thursday 27th December.
Midday on Monday 31st December to Midday on Tuesday 1st January

We can expect to see some huge jumps in population and troop buildup during that period, so be prepared for the aftermath!

Thanks to all for the resources! Len has launched a counterattack at me (so I sent that hero back for safety) and I notice he's the leader of his alliance- everyone attack {AO} alliance, they are fair game. It's farming time folks. I'll let you know how the battle goes...

We're not a particularly aggressive alliance so I'm open to diplomacy, but Len has basically made your whole alliance prime farming targets for us unless we're given reason not to attack. What reason do we have not to attack?
