Count me in on this alliance, I've got most of my resources around level 3 too.

My village is Wheeled bears valley (playername: bear-on-wheels), location -14|-59.

My neighbour, Violet Kingdom, (-54, 41), has adopted a cunning strategy of not so much farming me, but raiding me on average twice daily. It's quite polite raiding, in a way; I believe them to be on a different timeframe to me (or, at least, insomniac) and so my village gets raided when anyone on the GMT would be asleep.

I plan to combat this in two ways;

I) Not having any resources for them to steal; easily achieved by

II) Building troops and hiding them in someone else's village until there are a decent number.

There are now two of my legionnaries trekking to a friend's village, wherein they will stand around, smoking woodbines, until enough of their friends join them to enable them to come back.

This amuses me.

I'm not really bothered by the raiding - it's not textbook farming, it's oddly polite, and they're part of a slightly scary alliance who will apparently farm you more if you ask them to stop (and I'm not the one to chance this being smack talk).

When I have enough troops, also, I will be able to help out more, which pleases me.

The Roman outpost of Tricks is at -74 -46. Haven't quite figured out how the numbering system relates to points on a compass . . . but drop me an in-game message.

Still haven't found the actual Barbelix alliance listed on Server 4.

I was getting the crap beaten out of me at my first village, to the point that I couldn't upgrade my cranny because I was getting raided so often. So I quit.

RFR village is at -3,-61 and I am surrounded by people, but haven't been raided yet. But I think it will begin soon.

Sweet, thanks figs! I'm upgrading my embassy, anybody who wants in on the alliance and doesn't have an invite just yell. Remember you need a level 1 embassy to accept.

I've got a village next to me that keeps raiding. Has set me back by about four days resources in total (looks like my crannies weren't big enough) thus far, and is the leading member of a 13-village alliance (combined population approx 930).

Might be a bit big for the moment.

Damn, it's addictive. I'm playing Gauls, my village is at (-59,-40) in-game name bluebull. Only been playing a few days, should have an Embassy soon.

So not all villages are the same. I read that a 9 or 15 crop one would be good for a second village and potential capital? Found a couple of 9's near me but not seen a 15 yet.

All villages start off the same, with 19 potential building points (plus rallying point), surrounded by 4 woods, iron and clay mines, and six fields. What you build and what you upgrade determines how your village differs from those around you.

Nope, look at (-58,-38).
3 - Woodcutters
3 - Clay Pits
3 - Iron Mines
9 - Wheat Fields

When you start playing your first village automatically gets the 6/4/4/4 distribution, but when you go to found another village the resources can vary. The vast majority of unoccupied spaces have 6 wheat and 5/3/4 of the others in various combinations, but once in a while you'll see one with 9 or 15 wheat. The closest 15-wheater I've found is at -17 -59, but I'm sure there are more out there. I imagine these are going to be highly sought-after, and will be much more likely to be targeted for attack.

I've got a 15 wheat field next door to me - but I also have a lot of players at around the same level and some who are also allianced up - I imagine that everyone is working towards getting their residence's up to allow for settlers to grab the place...

I have one of those fields nearby and have a lustful eye on it..

About marketplaces.. I've been trading excess supplies with outsiders for the resources I need more of during a certain moment and have just realised the idiocy of my actions. Does everyone have marketplaces? If you need to make some swaps, I think it'll be good to mention it in our forums. Best keep it in the family, eh?

Hey Zippy, we need more Teutons so that's actually really handy. You're great attackers but poor at defence, so if you need some Gaulish defenders just say. Build up your resources, nobody can attack you for the first three days.

Sorry, I've de-Teutoned myself (see my second post). My game strategy is just not offensive enough to make me good at Teutons.

I'm building my resources and I've got a cranny and a level 2 main building right now. You can find me at Villa da Zipi at -49, -75.

Welcome zip.

I've got a new strategy to avoid losing non-crannied resources to raiders - trade. At the end of the day I trade my wood for iron, iron for wood, etc. so I know that my crannies won't be exceeded until I'm next online.

There's a grain heavy (1,1,1,15) valley at -4,-97, for those of you due south. I'm still trying to get my resources up to level 2s across the board, so I won't be going after it any time soon.

Someone keeps attacking me!

Dudes, some utter blowjob keeps raiding my village back (well, more like a side-step) into the Stone Age. He's called Len at (-47|-70). Mayhaps someone or someones could kick his ass?

I'm trying to join BBC but it's full up at the moment. Build more seats!

Help!

I remember seeing the link somewhere, it's buried in the manual. Or something about upgrading to Plus. On a similar tack - when my embassy's at level 3, will I too be able to invite peeps to the alliance?

Perhaps it's just me having been a bit slow to notice, but if you're not up and running at full speed with resources, you can get a 25% increase on production on the "Travian Plus" page that'll last you a week, whether you go for a swanky Plus account or not.

Mr Tricks

I've got a Market up and running in Tricks Village Great for converting surplus resources to useful ones. As a Roman I've found that the combo of a City wall and an upgraded Cranny pretty useful. Added to that, making sure to build/trade vigorously enough to keep only the amount of resources to fill a cranny reassuring.

Many of my neighbors are rather small so I've not encounter any aggression. Not sure if we can "Gift" resources to each other or set up a Loans system where advanced allies can help get newer allies up to speed. Looking at that map it might be wise to trade in such a way as to minimize the amount of time a merchant spends on on the road. For example; If Tricks Village had resources that could be of use to Y Man rather than sending merchants across all that Land we might arrange having Benny the Ball act as a broker, so as to cut the travel time in half. Not sure if that made allot of sense and as Tricks Village is on the outskirts of the BBC map posted above there's not too much in the way of helping I can offer. But of course all are welcome with-in our walls.

makes perfect sense - we should start working out rolls - having our armed forces spread in a good formation to make backing up and attacking a viable option in areas and numbers, making sure our merchants have the warehouse and grannary space to make brokering a viable option, a one voice emmessary to be the person who talks to attackers and sounds out why they think they can attack members of the alliance, and then working through trying to negotiate (ie, one warning, if they relatiate with another attack or garbage mouthed trash talk, then they get the offer of recompense of a certain amount of resources (be it the full amount taken or less a quarter to show that we are reasonable) if more trash and attacks, then we build army and attack) and so on.
