Like slappers. In rain.

Time. To die.

Ah yes, but the new posters can (I seem to remember) be executed summarily with our melee weapons if they behave without modesty, because they don't have good standing in the community*. And some of them probably pay taxes, too. Which is EVIL.

Or something.

I'm really glad Barbelith isn't Leaptopia.

I'm really glad NOWHERE is Leaptopia.

*Don't worry. EDUCATION will sort it all out.

I liked the part where Leap was on the dole. That was funny.

Was he?

Oh dear. Oh dear.

That's a bit horrible, but also very amusing. I mean, I hope he's happy and fulfilled, and after peak oil we'll all be wishing we'd devoted our spare time to woodcraft, hunting with the bow and campaigning for shotguns for grannies. But.

Ah.

Ahaha.

Ahahahaha.

AHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHAA.

I could be misremembering, mind, but I'm pretty sure that he fessed up to being on benefits at one point.

He was at one point. We were both working for the Council (Environment Dept.) at the time of Leaptopia, and asked to prepare a presentation to the senior management on what the future will be like and what we can do about it.

You can imagine what that was like.

I haven't seen him for a couple of years actually, I'm sure he's fine though. I think a lot of pagans share those crazy Leaptarian agendas, not necessarily down to recreating Robin of Sherwood (ah, Michael Praed) but certainly a luddite return to small communities.

Quantum

Sorry, for the new members; Robin Of Sherwood the TV show. Leap was a poster here who caused some controversy with his unique blend of melee weapons and survival-of-the-fittest post-envirogeddon utopia (here's the Breeding Exam thread as an example).

I'm off to critique the peak oil thread.

Did he actually come in with a bow and a green hood? And a Barbie doll he had dressed as a slapper?

"Guys, hi. Lot to get through, so let's kick this baby off, OK? Now, I've whittled a PowerPoint presentation out of this block of wood..."

Ohhhh yeah. Seems to be especially bad at the heathen/Ásatru end of things.

Sorry, chaps, don't mind us...

I'm amazed they actually made Leap do an actual presentation. Surely his view of the future would be self-evident to everyone?

Oh Good Lord. I just went through that again.

Don't tell me, Quantum. Eerie insistence on telling female co-workers that if they didn't agree with him about melee weapons they were asking to be raped? And male co-workers that the same ommission made their children fair game for murderers and crims?

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK

Here's the bit where he's a dole-scrounging slapper.

Though I did like the bit where he asked Haus: "Would you cage the worlds for the amusement of the depressed?"

No, I didn't really understand it then, either.

As I recall, the presentation mostly concluded we needed to be doing a lot more about the environment a lot more quickly, social inclusion and education were being undervalued and that potable water was the next big issue.
The sections on flooding, overpopulating the South-East, car usage, the rise in single occupancy housing, the need for immigration and the need for mandatory quarterstaff training in secondary schools were all cut due to time constraints.

With a slight emphasis. To be fair there were five of us and we all concluded radical change was needed. We managed to agree on the first steps, but the discussions about where we wanted society to go eventually were quite... divergent.

Blimey, re-reading the exam thread I found this gem;

We both (should!) have absolute say in whether we wish to be placed in the yolk to a bunch of irresponsible slappers.

'in the yolk', what a delightful misspelling.
