Hey, does anybody know if we can use CSS styling in our posts? I tried on that previous one, but the styling didn't show up in the preview.

Hi again everybody (wots not gone to bed that is)

Nights At The Council... a magical realist work of bureaucratic whimsy by Angela Carter?

I think he may still be finagling...

Yeah, I'm good... entering the home stretch of my night at work... listening to Tom Waits... yeah, could be a lot worse.

When writing in the snow..I prefer the 'peeing in morse code' technique.

Evening, keggers... I'm not interrupting anything, am I?

Wow. I've just done the "allocation of work" thing for the evening, and now the news has started coming in it looks like I've got sod all to do, cos none of my clients are interested in any of tonight's news! Okay, so I'm gonna have to reorganise things a bit or it'd be unfair, but for the next few minutes I'm gonna bask in the joy of having very little work to do!

I have never been able to pee so literarily in my life. It's almost like being loved for my knickers.

22:45 / 27.01.05
Thank you Keggers for that. You know, I've always wanted to try writing my name in pee, in the snow. It's not easy. It takes talent. Especially, when you suffer from severe nomenclature.

I'm sticking to short names from now on.

hello, Makki...!

I'm just sittin here watching the wheels...

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK

See, I have the opposite problem. Yes, I'm a bloke, so theoretically I could piss my name in the snow... if we ever got any.

23:02 / 27.01.05
Hello Alas! Me too, wheels and all...Soon to be at work tho.

Stoats, we have a ton. Come over and mark your territory. We have two.

23:04 / 27.01.05
hello, Makki...!

Why do I suddenly feel as if I need to get a seaweed wrap?

*winks at alas*

I think I need to scoot off. Later, shifters!

Hello everybody!

We're just saying random (if there is such a thing) favourite words out loud. So far I've produced 'bollocks', 'plunder', 'tender' and 'extraneous'.

Anyone else care to join in?

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK

Excellent! Ah I knew 'twas a matter of mere time.

SUPERFLUOUS

"tender" is a great word, as an adjective, not a verb. Or a noun. (Anything preceded by "legal" is problematic.)

and, in answer to Stoatie's exclamation, I like the word "cunt."

It's such a happy word.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK

I've just fallen in love with the word "troons". Okay, it was a mis-spelling of "troops", but I was sat there going "Troons? Troons? We're sending some more Troons to Iraq? Should I worry?"

alas
23:48 / 27.01.05
Troon. Sounds vaguely Scots to me.

I'm feeling that peculiar sort of melancholy that red wine combined with a grant proposal deadline brings on. I imagine my ancestors, huddled around a fire for warmth, drinking from a horn, listening to the tribal accounting offering the estimated budget and objectives of the planned project for hunting elk in the northern quadrant... It makes me feel so warm and deeply connected to what's most important in our humanity...

alas
23:49 / 27.01.05
damn. I hate it when poor typing spoils a post. "tribal accountant" dammit. 'Twas supposed to evoke a shaman with eye-glasses slightly askew, but . . . well, the joke's lost now.

bitchiekittie
23:58 / 27.01.05
the tribal accountant sounds kinda cute, in a musky sort of way.

I like "troons" as well, but perhaps only because they sound as if they might be sweets. mmm, sweets.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
00:05 / 28.01.05
Sweets... I may have to pay a visit to the chocolate machine...

alas
00:06 / 28.01.05
Stoatie, do you actually work at Willie Wonka's? Admit it; this whole newspaper reading job is a ruse.

A ruse is a ruse is a ruse is a ruse, as Gertrude Stein once said . . .
