Doctor Beck, the Psychogeography of London thread might be what you're looking for. (Note, its always easier to find things on Barbelith with Google than our own search.)

On the Q & A thread in Conversation, I just realised I accidentally dropped details of later episodes, while threads on Film & TV are trying to keep spoiler free. Could a Film & TV moderator look at my posts and amend them please to prevent spoilage?

I don't think they're spoilers really. They make little sense outside of the conversation and especially if you don't know what's just happened. They probably feel really spoilery to you but I don't think they are.

Well, there's the fact that people are still alive in episode 17, and that certain among them have met, and that one of them is menacing another one's wife. Maybe I am being too cautious.

They make no sense to me so far, but when I finally get more than a few episodes in, I'll be livid.

Well, actually I'll probably have forgotten them by then. But YMMV.

Well, if anyone's unhappy with it, I'd be fine with a mod deleting the stuff about Radioactive Ted and his menacing.

thanks james, will have a good look at the thread this weekend, and thanks for the google tip

I would have liked to have a little warning before I'd read it personally. Some of us in the UK have only just started watching the show. Luckily I managed to hop back out of the thread before mine eyes could betray me too much.

S'not a huge deal, but warning would be nice.

Good idea, maybe someone could add some spoiler space and a bold warning on the penultimate page of the Q & A thread?

The links here need to be fixed, unfortunately. Just thought I'd bring it to the Film, TV and theatre mods' attention.

Hmmm, did you copy that link when you weren't logged in to the 'Lith Llama? Anyway, I've put in a moderation request.

can someone please approve my mod request in the banning thread ASAP? The edit was quite large and I would hate for discussion to continue without my entire post up.

As a moderator I guess I should know this, but how do I edit a post topic? I only see a delete or modify post option.

Bottom left hand corner of the page should have an "edit topic" option, Jack.

Would there be any objections to the following two thread rotting posts being deleted seeing as how it is irrelevant thread rot that detracts from the rest of the thread?

They're posts from the 'Fun Home' discussion in Comics and both by Alex's Grandma. As things stand I haven't agreed to them yet as I'm not sure where we stand on deleting nonsense stuff, what with my hands getting burned about this last year...

OK, I'm in disagreement with another moderator over this thread in Comics. They want it moved to Conversation because it's fluff, I don't want it in Conversation because, while I agree it's fluff, I don't agree that the Conversation is the forum where we send rubbish to keep it out of our nice clean other fora. We've compromised on locking the topic for now.

So, should I just get over myself or should a comics-related thread stay in comics unless it's so despicable as to warrant being deleted?

I'm not a comics mod, but I don't see a massively convincing argument for moving it. It's a fluffy topic, but it is about comics and comics alone, unless one wishes to argue that these anecdotes are not actually aimed at comics at all, but rather the person posting. It does need a summary, however, and I think it would be perfectly reasonable to talk about whether list threads like this should be started in the first place.

However, if it is decided that fluff list threads do not belong in Comics, it goes in Conversation, because there is nowhere else for it to go apart from the deleted pile.

Haus, that's what I was thinking having already decided that list threads like that don't belong.

I suppose there is an argument that Comics has more of a community vibe than some of the other forums and as such can tolerate, and perhaps even benefits from, a bit of redundancy, but I think that even if I put a lot of stock in that way of thinking I'd be inclined to eject threads that are simply dull lists.

Do list threads in the Music get moved? I think they just get locked don't they?

They don't even get that. People usually attempt to turn a list thread into something better, or prevent a thread from becoming a list thread.

It's a shit thread, Boboss, but it's a comics thread. It's a thread about a shit aspect of a certain comics culture. The right place to critique that is the Comics forum.

Could we combine that one with the "how much have you paid" comic thread, and kinda change it to "comic collecting", then we could use all the responses as a little filler while we discuss the whole comics as collectibles thingie.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
14:26 / 19.03.07
I think part of the (positive) challenge of the thing is to try and up the ante a bit. Nobody cares that I got a bunch of Flex Mentallos for about a buck each but part of the bargain, the thrill of the discovery, all that - gotta be in the story. I see no reason to delete, lock, or move a thread when its just a little baby like that. If people don't like it, the thread will drop off the front page into obscurity. Although, that might take a while with the Comics so slow to move right now, but we can see about that.

You're right, Papers, but I think I'm gonna get a lot more hardcore on posters who refuse to up their ante.

Can't wait to get some more mods. Working on it.

Being tough of lame postings is a good thing and I totally support. I'd just be hesitant to get rid of any thread when movement in there's been so ... incremental of late.

Spaniel

Well, I don't think slowness should prevent us from moving any thread.

I kind of thought that Murphy was heading somewhere with the two threads, and so felt that it was perhaps worth giving the benefit of the doubt for now. List threads aren't that good, I've been a little guilty in the past of just posting a couple of lines. It is a comic thread, and i think that Papers is spot on in trying to raise the game of the thread.

Seeing as it's Toksik's thread perhaps you could PM him and ask him to change it, outlining your reasons why?

Toksik is on sabbatical right now, guys. If you think the thread title is really so eye-bleedy, probably best just to alter it.

Regarding this discussion here, do others agree that what I've done is bad form. If so I'll be happy to move for a deletion. Lula's complaint seems a little weird to me, though.

Could responders name no names in order to help keep this contained?

I don't see that there's a problem there, really - going back to a previous username can't indicate a desire for increased privacy, surely. Apart from anything else, a new name is going to be visibly linked to every single one of your previous posts anyway. If it was somebody posting in a different suit that you'd indentified with the name of one of their others, then yeah, you'd have done a wrong 'un. But it's not.

I agree with Randy that you´ve done nothing wrong, Boboss. That Xoc would mind that you mention his new/old name is speculative. And this is a public site, it´s easy to figure out who is who most of the time, even if you have let your account rest for four weeks. You should know that people are likely to figure out what your old fictionsuit is, if they are familiar with this site.
