"gypsy trash" is also a reference to a once fairly-common slur, I believe— so much so that a Roma of my brief acquaintance took it as a stage name. The poster may be ignorant of this fact, or I may be in error.

Moved for a delete in G&G. My suggestion for Music would be delete one and chuck the other in Convo after fixing the link, but I'm not a Music mod so that's just a suggestion.

Can I ask that the freakonomics thread in books be moved back to switchboard. I'd like to discuss this book not as a book, but about the ideas that the book contains, and as such I think that switchboard would be the best place to do this. Furthermore, as I can't see any requests for this change, may I ask whose decided to move it, and also why. Many thanks.

I was wondering if someone could change the "World Baseball Classic" thread to "General Baseball Discussion" or just "Baseball", seeing as the next Classic isn't until 2009 and the thread turned general a while ago. Since there are something like three people on this board that actually care, I feel like starting a new thread would be counterproductive.

Raggedman has posted a plea for help in the Creation but PMed me asking if it would be okay to post something in Comics too. I thought we had a thread for requests for Collaboration but can't find it. Is it worth starting one up for the comics but making it clear in the summary that it's for requests only, or should people be redirected elsewhere, like The Engine?

I'm wondering if the Homo 101 thread really belongs in this part of the board and if it wouldn't be more useful in somewhere a little busier, where more people are likely to read and contribute to it. As yet, it's not specifically about Barbelith, so it's not that much of a Policy thread. I can see issues arising from it that would be, but it seems to me to be something that would be better suited to Convo initially.

Making the suggestion here as I don't want to go all meta in the thread itself.

I'd prefer it to be in the Convo- partly for its own sake (more people will read it, and if we're gonna do these 101 threads then I think it'd be better for them if they were somewhere they'll be read by more people than just those of us who read the Policy) amd partly because we could do with more stuff like that in the Convo. Feminism 101 did okay there as I recall, and raised the conversational (or Conversational, even) average by a huge amount.

There's a very pleasant sort by the name of akira who has some interesting things to say about women in the "dumped by txt" thread in convo. I imagine some of our more confrontational posters are sharpening the faceknives as we speak, and the first volleys have already sounded. I don't see this going anywhere nice. Someone may want to try to head this off at the pass. Just a thought.
