If the idea is to entice recruits, his method of shitting all over the board as soon as he arrives is a remarkably unlikely strategy.

Uh, Film/TV/Theatre mods: I logged a request for moderating my Sopranos Season Six thread title and summary to exclude the exclusiveness of "US/Canada ONLY".

Is there just no mods hanging out in that forum, or did they deny my request?

I only requested it because a poster felt it was a little rude (that poster being a mod).

I'm a mod and didn't see the request. I wouldn't worry about it though, I don't think you'll put off any non-USians who Torrent the show.

Like I said, it isn't a massive problem, but it did raise my hackles when I saw the word 'only' in the title...

Mods, can we put a "spoiler" warning on this post about Curb Your Enthusiasm. It accidentally ruined the show for me in a thread about The Producers

Could we have a bit of clarification on the woman-friendly Barbelith thread? At the moment the abstract has it as primarily female-identifying posters. It's a completely ridiculous state of affairs at the moment, with male-id members adding to it then having their posts put up for deletion - there needs to be a proper decision made about whether or not male members of the board can post to it or not, because this is a farce.

Well, we already decided that, I think, through discussion - the topic abstract has simply not been amended to reflect. I'll put that mod request in now.

Whoopsy, I've posted twice there, forgetting it was *that* thread. I'll move for them to both be deleted, it's not like they're adding much to the conversation anyway...

There's a thread in the Headshop that needs attending/a-killin'. Possibly, it was put there in response to MotherSuperior's request for more fascists.

I justed posted angrily on that thread. Mods, you're more than welcome to delete my posts. Essentially, I just say "fuck you" to the thread.
What did we do to deserve that rancid wound?

It should probably be deleted too, before the Google Spiders catch it.

I found the Wikipedia link very useful and wish I'd had the wit to look it up before, when I was arguing online with a Holocaust denier. I also found the post about the DC Holocaust museum very powerful. So the thread should perhaps stand for that reason, as a standard response to anyone who brings up this topic again.

When he does turn up and start complaining about the thought police, maybe someone could link to the threads where Raelian Autopsy fails to comprehend everything that's been said to him, if they've not been deleted. That might give him an idea of some of the issues involved....

why I am so nice? Should we just ban him instead? The moment he mentioned Otherkin, it should've been obvious.. .let alone changing the world wanking while wathcing V for Vendetta.

Actually, Ill, in my experience, interest in Otherkin does not inevitably lead to Holocaust denial, so I doubt anyone here holds you responsible for lacking foresight in this matter.

How about deleting the content of the initial post in the thread to avoid attracting more hate-speech fans via Google, but leaving the locked thread available as an example of the kind of response that can be expected from Barbelith, including the link to the Wikipedia article on Holocaust denial?

I just lost another $500 bet. When Zoemancer started ranting about "free speach" on the Irving thread, another member asked how long I thought it would be before he revealed himself as a Holocaust denier. I told him not to be so cynical.

I can't believe I'm $1000 down because of Barbelith.

Should we just ban him instead?

I've contacted Tom and alerted him to the thread. I expect that banning Zoemancer will follow.

As we're linking to it in this thread it can still be deleted can't it?

(The 'leaving it as an example to others' thing didn't apply last time this happened did it?)

Do we need it as an example? Isn't it common sense not to post that kind of stuff?

Yeah, how about we replace the opening post with Lula's Venn diagram, only with "ZE DID THIS!" instead of "Don't do this!"

Don't unbatten your hatches yet, guys. Now we have the "I will not be silenced!" rants before the suit gets killed, the howls of "Censorship!" the dark mutterings of "I remember when this place used to be good," and the Evocation of the Mighty Spirit FreaSpeach. Should be over in a couple of weeks. Will seem like longer.

Much, much longer.

No, but it was the way he presented it, the combination of uncritical acceptance and ignoring thoughtful criticisms. Always a sign. BTW I don't think he wrote that holocaust denial stuff - he's just applied the same utter lack of intelligence, empahty and ethics to a Nazi FAQ that someone's sent him. Not that it matters either way.

As we're linking to it in this thread it can still be deleted can't it?

Yes - just to clarify for that deleted threads still 'exist' somewhere, so if this problem comes up again we can follow the link to the deleted thread and repost the Washington, DC post and/or the link to Wikipedia, rather than having to leave the thread visible in its entirety. I think that's a better solution.

Also, can I add my voice to the chorus of nausea, please.

Ditto.

Is this kind of shit grounds for an automatic banning? My Austrian heritage is screaming that we "Irving" zoemancer's ass out of here before ve comes up with more putrid muck.

We know the arguments ve's going to come up with. Space vir. Space vir good.

Trouser the Trouser posted this in The Temple:

If you do a google search on "the fetch" and "Barbelith" you'll also find his cached rants on Guerilla News Network asserting that he was Quote "liquidated" from Barbelith by Pro-Zionists who apparently follow him around causing trouble for him on the net. Also, and perhaps more worryingly, he's still advising people who are interested in his ideas to use Barbelith as a resource.

Although he didn't post anything specifically anti-Jewish here till the final explosion can we still get the little shits qabalistic kaka removed for good? If Mordant, Quants etc are okay with it, I'll delete the threads - any objections?

None. But I think deleted threads are still Googleable, so it may be a tad pointless.

So, can I go ahead and delete his crap from the wiki, then? That's probably the bit that's used to organise his little 'resource'.

Posting that wikipedia link was the last thing I did before going to sleep last night. I'm going to stick it in our wiki as well, in very brief form.

None. But I think deleted threads are still Googleable, so it may be a tad pointless.

I *think* they disappear from Google after a certain period of inactivity. I know one way to check... OK, I just searched for a thread I know was deleted about three years ago (I'll have to be on my other work computer to check when -- it's still bookmarked there). It wasn't there.

I wonder if I should PM zoemancer that Holocaust denial link just to make sure it's seen and read. If anyone else has already PMed hir anything, I won't, but if not, although I really don't want to, I will.
