Not meaning to offend your overly wordy selves, however, I find the pseudo-intellectualism of most University educated persons to be profoundly tautological.

Wouldn't it have been less pseudo-intellectual to use the word "redundant" or "repetitive" in place of tautological? Or were you attempting to poke fun at the poor University alumni?

Perhaps it was self-mockery, which would certainly make sense as well.

I am not a Devil, I am not a Demon, but I have been accused of being both in my time here. I don't want your immortal soul, first of all you don't have one, if you did, you couldn't give it away, and where would I keep it anyway? In my pocket? Please....there is more to you than even you know, all I want is for this Planet, this Mother of you all, to continue, to be at peace, for all her children to grow, and transcend this petty society and all it's lies and vulgarities.

You know, having been around for longer than everyone else,Luci ,you'd have thought by now you would have done something about the current state of society!-I mean,is 4000 years not long enough for you to get your act together? Just because you have a backdoor out of reality, doesn't make you Jesus. If you can presume to egoise a better world simply from your prose style, then good luck.Show us the money.

Kobol, like all humans that have become accustomed to the world of instant gratification, you wish for me to show you the Way, by delivering it up to you, without you having lifted a finger. Well, I'm afraid that would not do you, or anyone else any good. Knowledge without experience is but a fickle friend. Why don't you go out and try to explain your world views to others, why don't you walk a millenia or two in my shoes, before you critique me. I have never once suggested that I was Jesus, Jesus is the Son of Man, not Heaven, please ascertain your facts before laying out accusations. Bearing false witness is in direct violation with the Commandments.

P.S. I have been here for over sixty five hundred years.

Six thousand five hundred years? As a human wearing shoes?I think you've stretched your metaphor a bit too far.
What puts me in a position to question the claims that you make,is I've seen visions of the past too,and in some cases I experienced those visions through someone elses eyes. Not always human, and not always on this hunk of Rock- that you seem to love almost as much as yourself.
If you'd ditched your interstellar ego half a millenia ago, you'd realise that the more you learn, the more there is to learn. You are a fish in the sea of understanding.
I say 6500 years on Earth isn't long enough for one person to turn round and justifiably stick their nose up at any-one,human or otherwise. The Universe is a far bigger place than you credit in your posts.

You seem to judge humanity from the accumulation of evidence from a few pseudo-cultish web-sites.Prove me wrong.Tell me something I don't know, something that isn't covered in the History books.Shock us with your memories of The Dark days of Egypt. In fact, write a conmic book about it.You'll soon be spending too much time on a beach in The Maldives to give a rats ass about any of us lesser entities.
You've made me sad on a Friday.-So far, that seems to be the only power you have.

Kobol, I would never propose to claim to be who I am, if I couldn't back it up. As for wearing shoes for the last sixty five hundred years, well that is just a joke on Rexs' part, not mine. For the first seventeen hundred years, I was in my true form, and I am very sorry now in retrospect that I was so arrogant as to stay in it for so long, it has been the bane of my existence for many millenia. Also Kobol, in response to turning up my nose at any being Human or otherwise, I can't. I have been asked to help, and have taken it as a sacred duty to do so. Maybe you should re read what I have written thus far, before you accuse me of having an interstellar ego, that would prevent me from seeing the enslavement of Humanity and thusly all beings who inhabit this planet. You want to know the truth about ancient Egypt? Here this is the Truth. Ancient Egypt was started from the outcasts of The Garden of Eden, who had been banished by the perpetrators of this horrendous societal Lie in which you all live today. The woman who took those outcasts under her wing, has been battling against Human enslavement for just over ten thousand years now. There are only four of us against the influences of seventeen very accomplished men and women, who at every turn have stifled our endeavours to educate, and enlighten. Kobol, if you wish to discuss this in further detail, e-mail me, and I will give you my telephone number, and I will give you all the proof you need, but be warned, this road that I journey down is not for the faint of heart, or the easily disenchanted.
Your friend, Luci.

I'm wondering how you are able to back it up, to be honest.

And if it requires the consumption of large quantities of any substance to understand the Truth, I'm afraid I'll have to pass on the opportunity and wait until God stops taking hits.

You do not need to consume large or for that matter, small, quantities of any substance except those nescessary for sustenance of life. All you need to understand the Truth, is open eyes, and an inquisitive mind.

Although, to be quite honest, I think a few hits on the old pipe wouldn't hurt either if your truth is to be accepted by this rotten old cynic.

To quote the philosopher and social critic Thomas Jefferson Allen... "If all things are possible, then is it possible that some things aren't?"

My eyes are wide open and my mind is highly inquisitive, but I'm just not seeing what's lined up in front of you to be the Truth. If you could back up some of your claims, then I'll be able to refrain from claiming I am the mortal incarnation of the sky-god Hah.

Shall we start with the first quote I've taken from your previous post? What has convinced you that "Ancient Egypt" was founded by the outcasts of a "Garden of Eden"?

Rex: This is a great thread. However, even before all this blew up, there was a lot fluff. You could cut and paste everything relevant into a single topic starter (ie: a new thread), and we can leave this one to follow its own weird course. I'd be happy to join you there, for one.

Enlightenment? Are you referring to the state of oneness with The Universe in perpetual light?Well, sorry to reject your carrot on a stick, but you don't have anything to sell me in that department.

What to some is a 'great societal lie',is to others a really good idea.People deserve more credit than what you are proposing. Don't you think? After all, isn't your mission all about experiencing the game anyway?Join the world of ideas.Like the character Jim Callahan played by Clint Eastwood,'I hate the system,Briggs, but until someone comes along with a better one ,I'll fight to protect it.'
What better way to fulfil your upper-orbital destiny, than to actually interact with that multifarious society,in all of its screwball glory.I wish there was 17 bad guys'n'gals out there, but instead theres a hell of a lot more.
If you remember the reason for your existence,as the evidence suggests, then get back in contact with the entities that sponsor that existence, and tell them that as there are more than four.Theres been thousands of people in history who have had ego-shattering experiences -and not built a wall of ignorance around that experience. There are no consistencies beyond trivialities in a universe this big.Its a rock'n'roller coaster ride with some people on board who advocate chucking others off,in a vain attempt to make it change direction.Won't work.
You can think bigger than that.Think bigger than earth.Think bigger than Panoramic awareness.Think about the places you've travelled in your 6500 years,my GOD,you must have some stories to tell.Tell them.We need them now more than ever. And good luck space buddy.

Okay, that's it. Have you been reading everything that I have written here, or just the pieces that fit into your argument against me, and my claim, to being who I am. I HAVE BEEN INTERACTING WITH THIS SOCIETY IN ALL IT'S MANIFESTATIONS AND WONDERS, SINCE BEFORE YOU WERE AN IDEA IN MOUSE DROPPINGS, KOBOL.I have no problem with society in general, but with the way it is run in particular. I have not, as you have suggested, hidden away behind my veil of superiority, I am far from superior to any being on this planet. I am out in society's face everyday, and I am sure in just the last two years I have experiences enough to fill a very thick book, but then again so do you. And yes there may many more bad boys and girls than just seventeen, but, THERE ARE ONLY SEVENTEEN OF THEM WHO HAVE BEEN HERE FOR OVER TEN THOUSAND YEARS RUNNING THE SHOW. Oh sure you have your Ceasars and your Napoleans and your Hitlers, and your Bin Ladens, but these men are but bit players in the cast, and the seventeen are not bad, or evil per se, they are just misguided. And if YOU truly believe that anyone, apart from you can achieve your enlightenment, then you are Mistaken. As for dangling carrots, HELLO? That's my job. And as for stories, you want stories...here's one for you....
A man, let's call him....Bob, get's up one week day morning, and get's ready for work. It's a gorgeous day, his coffee is just right, and then...He and his wife have an arguement. All the way to work he is incensed about her words, he can't believe that she can't see his side of things. He feels upset and fatigued already, and is now, not looking forward to the day, he thinks he should just call in sick, but forgoes this idea, and ends up in his office, high above the city streets. He sits in his chair, looking out at the splendid view of the river and the suburbs that stretch for miles out of sight. And as he is sitting there he notices something out of place...a jet, a big passenger jet, is flying low, too low, and coming straight toward where he is sitting, he is frozen with disbelief, unable to shout out a warning, or to move to save even himself, and his last thought before impact is, " I never even told her I love her"..

Enlightenment/samadhi is an experience,I believe, that anyone can have.Because I am just a normal anyone and I've had it.I'd be willing to write something about it for the webzine, and will probably do it quite soon.

Could you explain what you mean by:

"I am The first born Son/Daughter/Starbearer of The Kingdom of Heaven, and I committed no crime to be placed here, I came of my own accord, I came answering a cry for help, from the first Daughter of the Mother, upon which you stand everyday.

Because its this paragraph I have issue with.

Maybe you should rename this thread "when fiction suits go bad."

Here's a serious question for those who engage in fiction suits outside of cyberspace:

Have you ever found any disadvantages to 'multiple personality disorder as a lifestyle option' when dealing with issues that confront you in your everyday life?

Have you ever found yourself going so far into your 'lifestyle option' that you started feeling a disfuntional effect, as if you had clinical MPD?

Excellent questions.

At first, I found Rex to be overpowering in day to day interactions with others...I wouls have too much to tell people and would come off like a fanatic.
Now I find I use Rex when the going gets tough...switchmode...Rex gets me through the tough spots...
Especially when it comes to women.

I figure this is the right thread to post this in: Expressionless, what ego modifying stuff has caused you to change fiction suit names?

Who was expressionless previous to being expressionless??

Lothar Tuppan
17:56 / 16.10.01
Heh. I meant that Expressionless is now Seth Samuel.

Seth
18:18 / 16.10.01
Who has now returned to expressionless.

It was a bit of an experiment. "Seth" is my first name, "Samuel" my middle name. I wanted to see what it was like to post here "unclothed." A friend challenged me on Saturday night, saying that if I really did just post as myself, with no illusions, then why not just use my real name? What’s the point of a fiction suit if you’re not going to use it? So I thought I’d streak the board. See what it was like. I imagined it would feel natural, but it’s funny: it really didn’t.

So what honest conclusions do I draw? Is the fictionsuit a shield for me? Is it more “me” than my real name? Are there parts of myself that I still want to keep hidden from Barbelith? Or does something in me feel that a fictionsuit is the correct way to interact with this place? Probably all of the above.

One interesting point: My family has a custom (started by my father) whereby we get to choose our own middle name when we reach eighteen. It seemed too good an opportunity to pass up mentioning in this thread. Obviously, I chose “Samuel.” I have a lot of reasons (which I won’t go into here) - suffice to say, I believe naming is very important. And perhaps by putting expressionless to one side I think I learned something significant about what the name means to me.

Streaking Barbelith was a very odd experience. I didn’t expect there to be so much to process as a result.

The fiction suit.
Is it a mask? Is it a shield to protect us and our fragile egos?
Or, is it an avatar?

AVATAR

NOUN: 1. The incarnation of a Hindu deity, especially Vishnu, in human or animal form.
2. An embodiment, as of a quality or concept; an archetype: the very avatar of cunning.
3. A temporary manifestation or aspect of a continuing entity: occultism in its present avatar.
ETYMOLOGY: Sanskrit avatra, descent (of a deity from heaven), avatar : ava, down + tarati, he crosses
