Very nice robot.

Robot computes as "nice," sub-category "very."

I've started up a small blog, my first, about low level grinding in the live poker arena. If anyone's interested, you can find it at http://jawsuspoker.blogspot.com.

I'm not involved, but I wanted people to see this article on Sequential Heart, a new org collecting comic books to redistribute to youth shelters and disadvantaged kids. So it's kind of a barbeplug.

I don't like introduction threads, so I'm in here as a new member pimping my shit. I do music reviews/news over at Tiny Mix Tapes, you can find most of my work for the site here.

And my blog, The Science Of Myth! Yes, the title's taken from a Screeching Weasel song.

Feedback would be greatly appreciated - I'm very interested in what you like/don't like about my writing.

I was avoiding bumping my own thread in Comics, and this morning I remembered "hey, Barbeplug!"

DEO GN COVER

Dead Eyes Open, a series I wrote for SLG and that a Hollywood screenwriter would pitch as "the West Wing meets Dawn of the Dead", came out in trade paperback this week. That's the SLG store link, but I also encourage you to patronize your friendly local comics shop.

I've put both Chapter One (4.7 MB) and Chapter Two (4.6 MB) -- the first third of the book -- online as free PDFs.

In retrospect, this was a 12-issue book that I tried to cram into 6 issues, because 6 issues was all I had. I still love it for its ambition, but the Publisher's Weekly description of the pacing as "frenzied" is accurate, if a bit harsh.

Blow for blow, though, I still think it's the most ambitious zombie book, in terms of really taking the genre in new directions and trying new things, that's been released in the last decade or so. If you haven't read it yet, please give the free chapters a try.

My apologies for plugging so much, especially seeing as how I've been absent from your esteemed company for so many years. I've got some music up on my myspace page that I'm quite proud of. The two top songs are my latest, and very indicative of how I sound nowadays.

If'n yer interested.

Copied from the thread in comics:

Okay guys, after much graft I'm happy to say that Mindless Ones - a comics blog authored by yours truly, Duncan Falconer, Gumbitch, MacGyver, Pigs/The Natural Way, Yawn, Fraely Boy, and a bloke called Tim - has just this afternoon gone live. There's a gaggle of posts up already, and with so many of us onboard I reckon new content should come thick and fast.

So, basically, come and have a look, and tell us what you think. I've had to learn a whole bunch about HTML and CSS to get the bloody thing ship shape, so if anything isn't working properly I really want to hear about it - but please, be kind. I am teh novice.

Oooh oooooh, if you've already got a blog how about some reciprocal linkage?

I may as well plug my groupblog . I've had it running for about five months now, and having a great time with it. It's essentially a sounding board for three drunken English-teachers-in-training.

Featuring a post-apocalyptic London with Boots and cats, and a combo tribute to Harland Miller and Charlotte Gainsbourg's "erotic underbite". And some sexy cigars.

There are no tunes up there yet but there should be in about a month and a half or so.

I'm performing in my circus cabaret which I've also produced, at the Croydon Clocktower on 28th June at 2.30 and 7pm, £12/9...

Look What I Found in the Attic
Join Dora Dare, your host for a show filled with fun and laughter, as she blows the cobwebs off a world of forgotten circus treasures from bygone eras. Gasp at the aerial antics, wonder at the acrobatic artistry and laugh until your sides split. This show is perfect for all the family and brings together some of the brightest new circus talent in the country.

I've been using friendfeed an online stalking facility that allows you to monitor both your own and your friends use of sites and services like flickr, goodreads, google reader, last fm, delicious, digg, stumbleupon, twitter and a few other things. You can set the feed up on your facebook profile page. I'm finding it a very sexy experience and I don't think anyone's mentioned it around here so thought I'd recommend it if you want to make everything appear in one place in a neat and linear fashion.

Hey all. For the next week you can download free excerpts of the first Defibrillators show here.

We're a duo consisting of Tony from Geisha and DTV on guitar and me on drums. It's all improvised and we aim to record everything we do together.

The excerpts are from the show at The Cube Cinema in Bristol, 12.07.08. You can also stream them from MySpace if you prefer.

If any lovely, lovely souls want to book us for a show then please contact us via that last link. We would love to play for you.
