Tonight is the April Fool's Benefit for ARCANA, my buddies show that goes up in May.

Anybody in New York City should consider going.

If I were there, I'd be there. In May I will. Your attendance tonight can help insure that happening.

Go support my friends, Chris, Joy and Jim!

Thanks.

We're doing it again.
We can't stop.
Help us.

Beauty and the Bitch (me and Orr) are on for a sleazy half-hour at half-nine on Weds 7th April at the Cockpit Theatre, Gateforth Street, off Church Street, London NW8, nearest tube station Marylebone.

For ONE measly quid of the realm, you get an evening which inlcudes not only our own special brand of magnificent filth (or 5 songs' worth, anyway), but the following spectacular fun:

Doors (and bar) open at 7

7.30 Dean Drinkel presents Lucifer's Crown, a short monologue about the hysteria surrounding the public hanging of a boy and his monkey for spying

(I'm so watching that)

8.00 Tom Salinsky presents "My Two Left feet", a one-man show dealing with a crippling phobia - fear of dancing.

8.30 - long interval and more bar

9.00 Aime Hansen "Dancing with Shadows" - three dances inspired by the echoes of the ancient Middle East and the music of Dead can Dance.

(moving ever so swiftly on)

9.30 Me, Orr, sauciness, comedy, music.

Fin.

And the bar stays open until 11.30 too.

I could have put this in several threads, but self-promotion seemed to sum it up best...

I have a Jenny Everywhere strip up on Strip Fight. And in consequence, an urge to say 'w00t'.

I'm not going to beg for your votes, because frankly I'm already overwhelmed that people are discussing it on the forum there. Like it's a real comic and everything.

Ah, bugger it: w00t!

Still thinking about what to do with yourself this Friday night? Tomorrow, (Friday,22nd October) Mixmage's band Planetman are headlining at The Last Rockers Club at The Canaervon Castle, Chalk Farm Road, Camden. (Which is London, obviously.)

They're ace.

Doors are from 8pm and there's a late bar till 1.30am with plenty of live music to drink to, so why not come down for the whole night and check out some great local London bands as well.

Come! Bring lots of people! Come on, you know you want to...

I wrote a short story recently, and apart from entering it for every competition going (so pleased with myself was I), I persuaded these nice people to let me read it at their next live short story event at Foyle's.

The event is on Friday 25th February, starts at 7pm and costs a mere £3/£2.50 concessions. I will be spanning the interval because my story's quite long. There are many fine pubs in the area for post-literary boozing and wine will be available to fortify yourself between parts 1 and 2.

The story is called Naughty and is best described as contemporary erotic comedy, including a humorous dildo scene. How can you resist?

(I hope this isn't getting too annoying.)

Re-plugging the Tarot thing. I've branched out a wee bit and mucked about with my prices: A full Celtic Cross spread now starts at $12 but I'm also doing cheaper three-card spreads now (from $5).

My eBay ID is xampayne2012. I'd prefer to arrange things via eBay (and get lots of shiny shiny feedback) but if PayPal is a problem something else can be arranged.

Ta for reading.

Believe it or not I have been working recently, hence the rather tardy post re this Sunday's extravaganza. If you are free/bored/horny this Sunday 21st August at 7pm, do pop along to the Sound Theatre just off Leicester Square and say hello to us at Out Of Vaudeville with Chinese Elvis. Cheaper than a ticket to Miss Congeniality 2, it's only a tenner to get in (less for concessions) and it's super fun and great value (finishes at 9pm for those with last trains and deep thirsts.)

NB If anyone is or knows a stand-up who can do a 5 minute set for us tomorrow, one of ours has just dropped out due to filming commitments ... please PM me their number and I will get that person a free ticket if the act is up for it.

Needless to say, there will be stripping snake women, silly acts, filthy showgirl songstresses (me), Chris Martin* and Swedish magicians. The website here above has all the necessary details - hope to see you there!

*May not be actual Chris Martin

Just Jack (not actually me) doing gig at Metro on Oxford St this Wednesday coming. He was almost big a couple of years ago (fly poster in Albert Square, no less) and then his record company went under. Our Elt put his Outermarker in his top ten albums in 2003/2004, and you can't argue with that. Don't listen to comparisons with Mike Skinner. Be there or be square.

Hey folk (esp Temple folk, you know who you are)-

I am featured as a fortune teller in August's 'Fate and Fortune' magazine ('Seaside Psychics tried and tested') available in your local newsagents. A journo grabbed two strangers off the streets of Brighton and got me to read their Tarot. They said 'I almost fell off my chair' and 'It really made a lot of sense to me' etc. so it makes me look great.

Check me out looking smug in the photo too

(BTW it's not the highest brow of mags, it's a Take a Break spin off, and the front page banner is 'Aliens stole my baby'. No, seriously.)

Hobejesus.
I really wanted to do this, and now I am absolutely kacking myself about it. Anyway- I will be performing a minimini act of innocent filth, Poppy's Joy, at the Cochrane Confidential @ The Cochrane, Holborn on Sun 5th March. To be honest, I dont know what else will be on, except for the 2 others I know doing it: The Stupendous Crapini (crap magic), and Fabian Wixe; I'm Feline Sick (very random coughing up cats act- it may just be me, but I thought it was great).

Anyhow, it may well be an entertaining night. You never can tell...

Cochrane Confidential 2006! Together with the International Workshop Festival, the Cochrane Theatre presents a brand new season of new talent at London's most unpredictable night of glamour and gorgeousness.

Showgirls, magicians, balloonists, exotic dancers, aerial and speciality acts, live artists, fan-dancers, drag Kings and Queens, tattooed ladies, fire jugglers, naked flesh and outrageous costumes...

Bar open from 6 til late

Next Dates: March 5th, April 2nd

Tickets: ONLY £5!

Book now or call 020 7269 1606

I recently took on a challenge/commission from First Draft Theatre to write a play in a week about or concerning a current news event. The play is called Operation New Life, and is based on this article. It's 45 minutes long and will be performed in a double bill with another new play written under the same conditions. The actors and directors have three weeks to rehearse the scripts and then BANG! they're on stage, for three nights only.

There's lots of other info and bumf and fluff about First Draft at their website, but if you fancy coming along here's the essential info:

Sunday March 19, 7pm, Hen & Chickens Theatre, Islington.

Monday March 20, 7.30pm, The Bedford pub, Balham.

Tuesday March 21, 7.30pm, Inn on the Green, Ladbroke Grove.

Tickets are £7.50/5 concessions at all venues and are available from the producer/dramaturg, Suzy, on 07834 522 566.

Them as what wants to meet up with me, I will hopefully be going along to the first night (at the Hen & Chickens), possibly the second in Balham but am almost certainly going to be unable to make it up from Norwich on the last night in Ladbroke Grove, alas. PM me nearer the time for exact movements.

Ok, last time I plugged on here, I wussed out. But this one is not wussoutable on. And it'll be fun!

It's the 2nd year degree show @ The Circus Space.
12th- 15th July, in a Big Top in Shoreditch Park.

I'll be doing acrobalance with my partner, and there'll be swinging trapeze, juggling, german wheel, tightwire, silks, trick-cycle, handstands, etc etc etc. If you haven't seen much contemporary circus before, it'll be much less upsetting than what you might be used to. Hopefully...

Anyway, I'll nag you with booking details when I know them.

This isn't something that I did, but I don't know where else to put it.

The House Rabbit Society needs your help!

2006 has been a hard year for House Rabbit Society. One of our chapters closed down and we were faced with the extra expenses and emotional challenges of finding homes for an extra few dozen rabbits— all at once! Animal care expenses are up, more animals are being abandoned, we’ve started a new chapter grant program to help our chapters, and we are feeling the strain. Plus we have the latest issue of the House Rabbit Journal complete; all that’s needed is the funds to get it to the printer! Your tax-deductible donations would help bunnies and people alike.

This is a great organization, and I urge all rabbit-lovers (and all animal people) to join. A 1-year membership is only $18 ($25 overseas) and you get a subscription to their journal, an excellent publication for any bunny owner. If you don't own a bunny, adopt one! Plus, it's tax-deductible!

If you're looking for a charity to donate to, please consider HRS!
