Jade, you're a big cutie. You're in anguish!

I wonder if we could combine forces somehow. I always dream of music collectives, but can never figure out how to use them to benefit anyone.
Other than creatively.

Is this the shamless plug thread? Ah, good. Sidles into view, opens briefcase and displays wares...

Whisky Priestess and I are assaulting the ears of cultured London once more with our cabaret duo 'Beauty and the Bitch' tonight. If you're in trouble; if no-one else can help then be at the Assylum Club, basement, 1a Percy Street (Corner of Rathbone Place / Charlotte Street). Doors open around 8.30, show starts at 9 and we're around half an hour in. Nearest Tube: Tottenham Court Road or Goodge Street. New songs debuted tonight include 'Gimme and 80s Movie', 'Just a Good Friend' and a cheerful paean to eating disorders.

I know I'm getting into dubious spam territory here, as I already have a thread for this in the comics forum - but as this is the shameless plug thread and as it's currently active, I'll just quickly mention my new website:

www.molotovia.co.uk

It has comics, illustration, and writing on magic. Enjoy.

Please come if you are London-based and fancy it. The first week would be best, cos we've got 75 seats to fill. Cheers!

I made some T-shirts on zazzle. I will make many more over the coming weeks so check back.

zazzle charge quite a lot, so I set it up to make copyright theft a bit easier. If you want to rob me of my livelyhood, simply go to the product description and use the supersize button to get a nice big picture. Then you can just save it on your computer, and make a transfer. You know, if you want to snatch the bread out of my mouth.

Theatreworld says of Johnny Simple (running till Dec 14th, molest to get a ticket)

"This is a lively, punchy comedy with some fine slapstick performances, notably from Carol Styles as the unashamedly greedy, bosomy Teresa, and Kevin Drury as Gilbert, who cannot control his strange impulses to pull knives on his nearest and dearest. Gary Ross as Johnny has a haunting air of innocence, but one which is built on those great English virtues of decency and fair play. Director Whisky Priestess has created a mischievous, imaginative Restoration ambience. Good fun all round."

More reviews as they come in, until people decide to kill me for shameless self-promotion.

And one more time, let's hear it for myself and Orr as we plunge headlong into another Beauty and the Bitch spectacular. Fringereport called us "fabulous ... magnificiently filthy ... hilarious", and who are we to disappoint?

This one is a full evening of our own satirical, silly and downright saucy original songs (with a few warped covers thrown in). We have special guest stars, exciting lighting, song titles like "If I Were Gay and You Weren't Dead" and all sorts, all for a mere fiver per ticket.

The venue is the White Bear Theatre (at the back of the W Bear pub), 138 Kennington Park Road, Kennington, nearest tube Kennington (sending a theme?) on the Northern Line. Box office number to book on is 020 7793 9193.

All those who tried to go to Johnny Simple and failed (Haus) may consider themselves forgiven if they turn up to this one. All those who are merely interested will be welcomed with open arms and probably bought drinks after. That's how nice we are to our audience. We'll also sign body-parts, but a small fee is involved, depending on the body part.

See y'all there ...

For my Australian fanbase: if any of you got The Age today, the "British academic and slash writer" quoted in Helen Razer's article is none other than me. Hee hee. (I only just heard about it by accident - don't know if there's an online version and can't remember what I said in the interview.)

I know I've not been around much lately and this is short notice, but my band has a gig in Islington this Friday... I was wondering if you London Lithers (and Lurkers) might want to check out some mayhem from the Midlands.

It's downstairs at The Garage on Friday 30th January... there's a money-off Flyer here and you can check out the band at our site Planetman.

Thanks.

Beauty and the Bitch (me and Orr) rear our lovely heads again, at the White Bear Theatre in Kennington this time. We're on until Sat 13th March (that's this Saturday) at 9pm, and tickets are £7/5 concs.

Here's what the Evening Standard thought:

"Well-aimed parody ... [Whisky Priestess] has a wicked smirk accompanied by mezzo-soprano flourishings ... [Orr] boasts the kinky jollity of a young Stephen Fry"

Fringe Report just called us "Hilarious ... Magnificently filthy"

Here's the flyer:

and the back with a little map and stuff:

It's even a multimedia show - the Standard thought that the highlight was "the shoestring DIY video for Gimme an 80s Movie, which neatly sends up celluloid classics"

Do come - it's fun!

His lordship has already mentioned this elsewhere, but I thought that a little last minute publicity might help:

Tonight (24th) from 8pm at The Prince Albert, Trafalgar Street, Brighton

wherestheheads - a spectacular night of krautrockin' protopunk drone and firenbrimstone poetry. Featuring Alan Hay with backing courtesy of the mighty Yeti, and DJs Lord Nuneaton Savage and... um... me. Only with a neat DJ name.

A measly £2.

For map, more details, etc - click here.

C'mon. It'll be fun.
