3rd out of how many? Anyway, when does the party start? Money won with gambling should, for karmic reasons, be expended solely in irresponsible things, y'know...

I'm happy because I've finally got the one volume that was missing for me to complete my "The Invisibles" collection ("Bloddy Hell in America", of course, which I'm sure is an extended joke on Hollywood cinema). Now I intend to get me some good acid and/or shrooms and read all 7 of them back to back. If my head doesn't explode, I'll get back to you and tell you how it went.

I wish I had furry lobsters to eat during the ordeal...

Well, you wouldn't be able to eat the one in the link I posted because it is a SOFT TOY and a word of genius...

Really? Well, truly great craftmanship there. Well, I guess that answers my question of how it tastes...

Sheena The Dog, while something of a fucking handful, is still giving me a wonderful happy. Watching her play with Sasha (TangoMango and Lilly's dog) this morning was really quite ace.

She does this great tilting her head from side to side thing when she's confused that is just awesomely cute. Makes training her that little bit harder, though... it's really difficult not to give her lots of praise just for being cute, when in fact she's confused because she's NOT "getting" it...

She's dead clever, though. And picks stuff up REALLY quickly. And once she's grown up I am probably going to miss the difficult, yet intensely cute, puppy stage. Though I imagine she'll still give me a happy. She's ace.

Getting my £60 worth of high-quality tea and tea accessories through the door in a big fuck-off parcel after ordering them from China two weeks ago. Now my tea set is pretty much complete.

Running through the entire ceremony with some really high-quality, amazing tasting tea makes me happy and content in a way that confuses me.

Making it to Friday afternoon in my new job... whew.

Finally, for the first time ever, having a job that's Monday to Friday, 9-5, and has internet access. Woo!
I haven't been able to read this much Barbelith in years!

In a few hours I will be going to windswept Brighton for the weekend for a belated birthday bash, thereby escaping the horror of St Paddy's Day in London. I'm sure there'll be green-hatted ginger-wigged faux Irish tossers in Brighton too, but on a much smaller scale.

This weekend I'll be getting some instructions on a particular Buddhist sadhana that I've been going spare to get guidance for. And I should be starting some Tibetan lessons, although I don't think I'll be too good at that.

And a load of Einsturzende Neubauten CDs should be arriving on my doorstep tomorrow.

It's also Friday!

Realising how many people reading this genuinely want to see me succeed and do well and generally be not a fuckup gives me a happy.

Well, my sister's had her tumour removed and they're pretty confident they got it all. She's got to do all the chemo and shit, which she's understandably a bit freaked by, but there seems to be a pretty good chance she's cancer-free now. And THAT gives me a happy and no mistake.

Correction- apparently there's still some in the lymph nodes(?) but they reckon they got it in time before it joined up with the rest of it or whatever these fuckers do, and they think zapping that should be fairly successful.

Has your Sistoat got a sense of humour? If she's got that she'll be alright. My mum's going through breast cancer treatment at the moment, having had a masectomy, and now into her 8th week of chemical therapy. She's bald as a smurf and feels logey and weak for stretches at a time BUT! she can always tell a good joke.

Good luck and gooder health to you and your sis in the coming months, dude.

Being randomly interviewed as I walked out of HMV in Oxford Circus for BBC6 was entertaining, especially given that the topic was the Soft Rock revival, meaning I got to slip in a cheeky dig at The State of Modern Music today while namechecking Spirit of Radio by Rush and The Voice by John Parr as The Classic Soft Rock tunes.

Life is strange, sometimes.

I was 15 minutes late for work today because my cab driver got lost. I'm happy because we got stuck going around the Azalea-Dogwood Trail which is not something I would ordinarily do and since I was late I missed having to deal with an angry customer.

Saw the first butterfly of the year, sunning itself on a windowsill.

Watching the weather report on BBC, they were talking about butterfly, ladybird and frogspawn sightings. Graphs and everything, 'twas kind of cool and giving of happiness.

Sometimes something happens which restores even a misanthropic bastard like me's faith in the human race. Last night we had a girl over- we'd never met her, she came with a friend of ours- who turned out to be both extremely homophobic and anti-semitic. I was in my room at the time so I didn't witness or hear it firsthand but it was seriously pissing one of my housemates off though he didn't confront her about it directly other than to point out that he's Jewish immediately after she said 'I'm glad I'm not a Jew.' He and I were talking about it afterwards and I was getting pretty angry and doing my usual sighing about how much some people suck. At which point he said, "by the way, thanks for bringing up how us using 'gay' as an insult bothers you, because you're right, that's total bullshit. I've really started paying attention to what I say, and it makes me angry too now. There's no reason for it to be a negative thing."

I fucking love my housemates and I fucking love people. The worst in some brings out the best in others.

I have just learned a wonderful fact about myself. I may be shit at saving the world from alien invasions and/or terrorists, terrible at cutting my bloody swathe across ancient Europe, and absolutely fucking appalling when it comes to silent assassinations...

...but if you ever want someone to not shoot a puppy, then Stoatie's yer man.

Even though I eventually didn't shoot it I cannot be happy about the puppy for reasons detailed in the miserable thread.

Did you at any point want to shoot it?

Well okay, I did shoot it. But only once. Level 3 nearly had me, though...

Also I did my nails really nicely while playing 15 levels of puppy.

I buffed my nails. At length. It was the only thing to do while leaving the mouse alone for 10 minutes at a stretch and watching a puppy advance by one millimetre at a time. I know what you're getting at, Lula, because I have read the Women Only thread.

I don't feel able to post there, and I don't feel it's right to talk about me and gender (which is what you're meaning) on a thread meant for people to post about small happy things. So, maybe somewhere else, or in PM?

This thread was almost on page four...

But now, let´s rejoice!

Germany won the Marble World Championship!
The marblers of 1. MC Erzgebirge from Neukirchen close to Chemnitz won in the final round against South London´s Handcross 49ers in the south english town Tinsley Green. Germany last won the Marble World Championship in 2003.

"The Germans were more disciplined," Organiser Sam McCarthy-Fox told the assembled press, "our teams were more invested in drinking beer, which led to certain deficiencies in concentration."

Let´s take this as a good omen for the leather marble World Championship in summer.
