plus, you can shorten it to dio.

Is there a bit of a true metal thread running through today or something?

Bu as Stoatie's imminent puppy-to-be is female, calling her Dio would just bring Ronnie James to mind too often.

You could name it after a Moomin character, (that is if you don't mind shouting out "Here Snufkin" or "Fetch Snork Maiden"
in public parks.)
Little My would be a lovely name for a dog also.

Oh yeah! I just re-read Moomintroll and Little My to the child F tonight, and was thinking about the great names in Moominland. How about Fillyjonk or Gaffsie, Stoatie?

(With the calling in parks problem above still applying though)

Sniff would be an awesome name for a puppy!

Mon Oncle Ignatius

Or Lady Sniff in full, for a extra bonus Butthole Surfers reference?

With Little My after she grows out of puppyhood she could graduate to plain ol' My.
My last dog was Kimble. He only had three legs and was erroneously named after the one armed man in The Fugitive. I think he may have had phantom limb syndrome.

Summoning "Mimble!" in the park or cemetery would probably not sound too bad, though.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK

Yeah, Mimble could work.

(Someone in the office has already suggested Chantelle... while I have to admit it crossed my mind, it crossed it very briefly and was met with a "fuck no").

'Mimsy'?

Ganesh

Or simply 'Moomin'. M-names are the best.

Maybe a bit too... Borogrove?

Someone just suggested "Norwegian Doomsday Vault", which is kinda cute.

My dog had a very strange name - LOMF. His previous owner was Welsh and its the acronym for Land Of My Fathers.

And I have more happy 'cos I got the job and am now a Project Worker at centre for homeless men and women and will get paid and everything. Partner and i can't stop fantasising about what we're gonna do with the extra money each month - though have grim feeling Mastercard are going to be having most of it.....

Congrats Stoatie, am so happy. Lomf died in October and its so crap being dogless. And if you ask me lab/collie cross sounds pretty damn perfect.

Cool news, Stoat. Our dogs tend to get two names. Current dog's name comes from the poetic edda, which my niece was reading at the time. Fenrir Ragnorok. Fen for short. Doom of the Gods. He's got those ice blue nordic eyes since I think he's got some husky in him. He's become a lovely dog, although he did eat a sofa.

I second Ganesh's "Moomin" vote.

Say it out loud a few times, and you find yourself with a happy.

Stamps. I still get a little happy buying stamps at the post office, especially for unusual values, so they have to go through their book tearing off allthese different stamps to add up to what you want. Envelopes are much improved by having an assortment of stamps on them.

Today I got a 68p stamp and it has the very hungry caterpillar on it. And the caterpillar has eaten holes in the stamp. Ace.

oh wowoo. That stamp is FAB.

I am just very happy, and have just spent an evening with one of my dearest friends/one of the best people in the world. D/the Cherish rocks. She really does. Boboss can vouch for this.

If only Gumbitch had a clearer posting style, he wouldn't have had to tell me IRL about this

so copey's sock/brick/bottle/whatever only went and bloody asked her, and she only bloody went and said yes!!

Just so everyone's clear COPEY IS GETTING MARRIED, and I for one would like to congratulate the old bastard.

Excellent stuff. If I start drinking now I should be on top form come the wedding.

I won a new phone over the weekend in a raffle. It's Nokia 8800 and it's so shiny and magic. I'm almost embarrassed at how much I love it. Logic tells me I should flog it, but it's just so pretty, I can't.

Have you seen the way he stears (i.e. after his initial crash)? Amazing. I keep expecting to see him do an ollie or a kickflip or something. And I must say, it's good to see he's given up the pipe and stopped hanging around with that dodgy pack. (groan)
