Im here, weekend sucked, spent it here "working"

missed a fantastic show last week because of my bum ex. will miss 3 good shows coming later this month because I had to shell out so much for medicines. damnitdamnitdamnit

on bait vending machines: are they refrigerated?

Trijhaos
16:29 / 21.04.02
I don't know. All I know is the bait is replaced every day or so since the creepy crawlies don't live long and well you don't want to sell dead bait if your sign does live bait, do you?

Utopia
16:31 / 21.04.02
they could always change the sign...

Trijhaos
16:34 / 21.04.02
I don't know the first thing about fishing, but I believe the little fishies will bite your hook more often if you have a little squiggly thing wriggling on the end of it. A dead thing doesn't wriggle much.

I've been working most of the weekend, all day friday, most of saturday and today until 3...and I haven't had a complete day off in about a month now. So, in responce, my body has given me a cold, and I am running on very little sleep.

The mornings here at the group home are quiet...I have to be here, but the residents stay in bed until about 9:30 or so, so I wrote up my news parody for the week and am just talking with a resident while writing this up...he's a low functioning OCD who prolly has Attachment Disorder, so he just wants to hang around staff and jabber on all morning.

He just offered me a drink of his sprite...and I declined since he hasn't washed his hands in a while. Why can't he be a OCD with handwashing?

Tonight is the WWF Pay Per View so I get to see my friends and laugh at our TV.

My weekend is Wednesday, and on that day I will lay in bed and read comic books...oh, who am I kidding, I'll either get called in to work or go the gym at some insane hour fo the morning.

17:00 / 21.04.02
rose, you are the coolest mom ever! your son must be so proud to have a parent that reads comics, watches WWF and talks to the scoundrels here. sorry, i don't mean to ghetto-ize you into a "mom" role, but you had mentioned it earlier and i just made that connection.

well, enough from me...

Trijhaos
17:03 / 21.04.02
Scoundrels? There aren't any scoundrels here, nosiree bob, not a single one.

Captain Zoom
18:05 / 21.04.02
And what? I'm not a cool dad?
I'm just not trying hard enough.
My day is busy and kind of annoying. Lots of people, but not lots of sales.
And people keep interrupting me while I'm typing.
See ya.

Zoom.

Solitaire Rose as Tom Servo
18:18 / 21.04.02
*laughs*

OK...I'm a single dad...but it's OK, I do everything a mom does except have breasts.

Utopia
18:20 / 21.04.02
i dunno zoom, did you ever give your son that beer?

ha ha, sorry rose! i don't know why i assumed otherwise. it's not like you have some female infliction in your posts. isn't it funny how we assume things about people when we don't really know all the facts...

Trijhaos
18:22 / 21.04.02
That's why you don't make assumptions. I know everytime I assume something, I'm usually wrong and end up horribly embarrased.

bitchiekittie
18:24 / 21.04.02
Id thought rose was a guy, too, but I assumed it was just something Id assumed at some point (the old adage about it making an ass out of me is quite true in my case)

Captain Zoom
18:31 / 21.04.02
Yup, just like you assumed that I was a guy! Boy, was that embarassing. Remember that?

Um....you don't?

Where am I?

Zoom.

Trijhaos
18:34 / 21.04.02
Where are you? Well it doesn't look like Kansas, does it Dorothy?
Obviously, you're in Wonderland. Doesn't anybody read the handbook?

Utopia
18:42 / 21.04.02
there was a handbook? why didn't i get one? maybe that's why i'm having such difficulty here right now...

and i try not to assume too much, but my subconcious has a way of imposing characteristics on some people here. it's a random selection, i think. rose, you just happened to be there when my brain was ready to assign the female gender to someone. i'll try harder not to assume things though...

Trijhaos
18:45 / 21.04.02
What do you mean, what handbook? Didn't a shadowy guy accost you when you first registered, say "hey...read this....it'll tell you everything you need to know", then kind of melt into the shadows?

Solitaire Rose as Tom Servo
18:48 / 21.04.02
It's OK...the Rose part fo the name usually throws people off, and there is a very strong bias for Women to be single parents.

But I'm still the coolest mom around. And I get to leave work in about 10 minutes.

Utopia
18:49 / 21.04.02
there was a shadowy guy...but all he did was flap open his trenchcoat and reveal me his naughty bits. said his name was "tom" something...

Captain Zoom
18:50 / 21.04.02
Dude, you weren't supposed to tell anyone about that. That's just for the select few. And I didn't "melt into the shadows". I just stepped up to a higher plane and moved on to my next assignment.

Zoom.

Utopia
18:55 / 21.04.02
just like jesus, if you really think about it...

Trijhaos

A Barbelith Jesus? Cool! Can he turn water into beer, and flour into pizza?

Captain Zoom
19:12 / 21.04.02
Now appearing for one day only.

And when I change back, this stuff will make no sense to anyone but us. Check it out, we're the weekend clique.

Jesus Zoom.

Captain Zoom
19:14 / 21.04.02
Um, question. What's everyone going on about 420 for? What significance does it have?

Jesus Zoom.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
19:17 / 21.04.02
Hey! I do weekends too (sometimes... well, alternately...)! I've been out to walk the dog, been out to the pub for a quiet afternoon sunny-day kind of pint which turned into a full-on reunion with a bunch of people I haven't seen in FUCKING AGES, then came home. Cooked myself some dhal (sp?) and am now chilling in front of the computer.
Nice.
But surely Jesus only being Captain is kind of heretical? I always thought he was the Admiral of Salvation or some such...

Trijhaos
19:17 / 21.04.02
Check out the 420 thread here in the conversation that impulsivelad started. I'm pretty sure there was an explanation there.

Utopia
19:24 / 21.04.02
"admirals of salvation"...the second great band name to come out of this thread (well, ok, my "hurdles of innefficiency" isn't great...). weekend clique? pretty soon people will start referring to conversation as a ghetto. ummm, i hate to use this as advertising space, and i'm sure most of you have already seen it, but for those who rarely visit policy, knodge has his "report" up. i really have no response at this time...

Trijhaos
19:27 / 21.04.02
I checked that out...."oh I want to learn more about magick but everybody there is so self-possesed" or some such bullshit. Dammit! I am providing a perfect way to beginners to jump on the damn bandwagon.

Why does he waste his time? Nobody is going to take him seriously.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
19:27 / 21.04.02
Yeah, utopia, I've been biding my time (ie waiting until I'm not pissed) to comment on that one. Feel free to use "Admirals of Salvation" for whatever though. Anyone who uses "Monstered By Beaks", however, may kiss their kneecaps goodbye.

There's this comics for rent shop that I frequently patronise. As I don't really tell the owner much about my likes and dislikes of the kind of comics that I like, sometimes I feel that I should have; as the owner would then have one more customer to add to his already long list of customer taste survey. It's very difficult to find English comics for rent in my region. Those that I like to read would be the Tick(for ocassional reading) and others like .......but hell the last English comics I read was a 1993 edition of The Death of Superman and that's when I read it in 1997. Couldn't really recall what types of comics I like anymore.........

Trijhaos
19:30 / 21.04.02
Uh-oh! *kisses his kneecaps goodbye*

Utopia
19:34 / 21.04.02
"monstered by beaks" LOL!

johnson chong: comics for rent, eh? the best way to get your tates across w/ the comic guy, without verbally harassing him/her, is to get on a shop subscription list. the store will save your titles every month, usually give you a discount, and your presence & voice will be heard by the powers that be. the store may even be more willing to order bizarre/foreign stuff once they becom familiarized with you, and know you will come back and pay. plus, there's a comics store in philly that gives subscribers donuts on wednesdays! i'm not a subscriber there, but oh the look of joy on their pudgy little faces (though i hope they're eating the dinuts after they browse...). and yeah, we could all blow off some steam about the knowledge, but i say save it, form an intelligent response, and let the 'lith speak for itself.

Trijhaos
19:37 / 21.04.02
oh yeah, haha. Its real funny. Its not like your kneecaps are on the line here. I think I'm gonna go invest in some kneepads.

Captain Zoom
21:18 / 26.04.02
Too early for this?

Trijhaos, Utopia, are you out there?

I'm preparing for the weekend. All my friends are off to Canada's Wonderland (the local answer to the Disney places), so I'll be even more bored this weekend.

So what're you up to this time

Zoom.

Trijhaos
21:23 / 26.04.02
I actually plan on doing something constructive this weekend. I've got a paper due Monday, and I plan on ironing out all the rough edges.

Unfortunately, I will end bitching about how bored I am, surfing the web, and will end up staying up late Sunday night to work on the paper.

Oh well.

Utopia

i can't help but be amused that this thread is still going. my life must seem pretty fucking boring, because once again i'm forced to tell you that i'm giving all my time to college-related activities. well, ok, that and rockin' the gravity bong... i'm in a mad dash to take care of a lot of things now (and the past few weeks) hoping to chill out in some regard next weekend, than onto finals. right now though, i'm surfing through the watchmen tpb i bought today (along w/ eightball #22, finally). moral dilemmas abound, but such is life. trijhaos, i know you're lurking around here somewhere...
