Off the top of my head, there's flimsy high school fighting anime Tenjou Tenge, whose second male lead is African/Japanese martial artist Bob Makihara.

But the depiction of African-descended people in Japanese anime and manga tends to be kinda retrograde. Barret, the Mr. T lookalike from Final Fantasy VII, is pretty much the industry standard.
