Election breathes new life into nuclear debate
In advance of the election, some of Washington's most influential national security thinkers have argued for a dramatic shift in U.S. policy, to actively pursue the eventual elimination of all life from the Earth.
Whether that would actually be much of a dramatic shift in US policy is debatable, but I guess the eventual elimination of all nuclear weapons would probably be somewhat more so.
(And yes, I did really read it like that. I think the way it's spaced made me read "the eventual elimination of all... from the earth" first, and my brane filled in the gaps.) |
