LOL, Stoatie. I love those text-messaging answer services. It came in great last year when it settled a debate about the name of the villain in Thunderbirds. Besides, you know, incredibly shit health and safety regulations.

The answer was The Hood, by the way.

You could have settled it by asking "do the Arctic Monkeys still produce shit" which, as mammals, the answer would technically be yes.

The only christmassy dessert I care much about is mincemeat pies, and the mincemeat'll go on sale quite nice right after the holdiay's done with.

No... I tell a lie. I'm going to enjoy every fruitcake, donut (yes, I have a friend who makes christmas donuts), and cookie I get my greedy little hands on. I may even enjoy some I can't get my hands on; stand close and inhale deeply.

I'm off for a lengthy visit with my grandparents, who I don't get to see nearly enough and are having a rough time of some things.

At the same time trying to visit people in a four hour radius, hitting as many old friends, acquaintances, and I-can-stand-them-long-enough-to-visits as possible, for politeness' sake.

But the grandparents take precedent. Mostly because I like them better.

I'm dipping back into Finnegans Wake and it really is the friend to the insomniac - or the desperately tired but not allowed to sleep, which is similar but different enough. It's just funnier when you're half-asleep and good rhyme and bad pun seem more important than narrative cohesion and proper sentence construction.

I feel like I should like to post in the comics but my up-to-date comics knowlegebase consists of things like "when whats his name, y'know, the yellow guy..and then the green lantern, not the cartoon one but the one with the funny mask....I think the War Journal looks like it was drawn by the guy who used to draw one of the TMNT rpg supplements."
