You know, there's a trick for when you accidentally close a tab in firefox, where you can make it come back. Ctrl-shift-t. I'm not sure if it works when firefox dies and you restore session, but you could try it.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
22:20 / 13.12.07
'k, I think I have everything loaded up and working all right. No major problems with iPod syncing, which seems unexpected.

How's the shift doing?

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
01:33 / 14.12.07
Question mark.

Hi, Veng. How's things this evening?

Saint Keggers
01:43 / 14.12.07
Pretty damn good. I got taken out to the pub by my friends (the one Im doing the mural for) and I met some realy fun people. Good times were had by me.

Facebook has dropped the "is."

Now we all breathe Freedom.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
01:46 / 14.12.07
Sweet! I'm organizing Christmas plans. Opting out of the extended family travesty in favour of friends and my mum visiting town. Thank god for completely random family feuds.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
01:47 / 14.12.07
Freedom-breathing is the best breathing.

Now. To come up with a status that has no "is."

Saint Keggers
01:49 / 14.12.07
I am not on Facebook. This is talk is confusing. What is an is?

Essential Dazzler
01:50 / 14.12.07
That "is" has crippled my imagination.

It took me forever to actually do that.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
01:51 / 14.12.07
Veng -- one of the features of Facestab is that you can set your status, which was always in the form of "[name] is..."

Is is gone, yo.

Saint Keggers
01:53 / 14.12.07
Ah. Yes, I suppose that could be annoying

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
03:29 / 14.12.07
I don't know. I'm tending to feel like Facestab is just a delivery system for online scrabble, these days. Or something.

This Sunday
01:20 / 15.12.07
I'm alone for the evening. Just me and the liquor cabinet.

So, shifting. [deeply Jim Morrisony:] Is everybody in?

So, other than finding Cloverfield previews and foodblogging what've you been up to?

Kali, Queen of Kitteh
01:27 / 15.12.07
Oh yay! Did you read the food blog?

This Sunday
01:31 / 15.12.07
Parts of it. The corn & lima bean soup bit. Salad and juice.

I like it. The picture with the laptop in the background makes my brain go funny, 'cause you're supposed to be at your computer if I'm at my computer looking at something typed by/showing you (yeah, I know that's not how it works, but my brain apparently does not know this). But, otherwise, it's - I'm going to have to go fix something to eat just thinking about it.

Well, please remember I'm just finding my feet with this. I love to cook and I love to eat out (when I can afford to). I'm hoping that everyone who reads it--and believe me, it will get more and more recipe-oriented as it goes on--will make comments and give pointers or tell me what they liked or what they changed about the recipes I've given.

Soooooo....hate to be pest, DD, can you tell me what you liked and didn't like about it? Feel free to PM me if this may be clog up the Lateshift thread.

P.S. made killer tandoori chicken tonight. So a post on the food blog on Sunday.

I'll have to give it a refresher look and get back to you with some commentary. Offhand, it's working pretty good for me in terms of enthusiasm and description, but the info comes in funny spurts. I can't believe I'm suggesting grammatical adjustment to anyone, but, more structured paragraphs? Maybe.

There'll be a recipe with that chicken blog, right?

Kali, Queen of Kitteh
01:52 / 15.12.07
Yessir. There will be. It came off so fairly easy that I'm astounded at how good my house smelled.

I just want to be clear, though--and MattS will back me up on this: the majority of what I cook is vegetarian, so non-carnivores shouldn't be put off by the blog. There are the occasional meat recipes, true, but they are mostly chicken or fish as I don't care for other kinds of meat. Even with chicken or fish I have these weird standards. So please don't say things about it. I respect everyone's appetites. I am always open to learn about them.

Well, I'm having a double-sized Reuben and some raisin bagels and lox delivered tonight, to be washed down with grocery-store housebrand bourbon, so I clearly can't be critical of anyone's diet.

I just like tastes. In the most childish way imaginable.

I've successfully creeped myself out looking at Cloverfield links.

Who eats lox with raisin bagels? You weirdo.

Kali, Queen of Kitteh
02:04 / 15.12.07
Um, I don't. Was that in the Cloverfield link? If so, then wow, you, Liger, are fields more of better hearing than I.

Kali, Queen of Kitteh
02:06 / 15.12.07
Never mind.

I am an ass.

The oddest, most questionable bagel thing was a cinnamon raisin bagel toasted with cream cheese and tomato. Adding or having lox to that would have me go: "Urrr, sweet/savory thing, is it?"

Who eats lox with raisin bagels?

If I don't, then I'll never know what it's like.

(Let's just all pretend I'm not going to end up using that line in court some day.)

Oh, just the ones in the thread: the Slusho site, the Photo site with the monster noise that comes on in six minutes, the new trailer that's taking forever to load...

Food blog?

Links Please!

(I'm not up to making linkies.)

That monster scream thing... I never realized how impatient I could be until that thing. I was trying so so hard not to focus on that window while waiting. No, I'm not waiting absurdly eagerly, no, I'm focusing on this news story over here and this article... and then it came and I was so focused on not focusing it surprised me as it came out supergood Bose speakers at high volume. I imagine I wasn't the only one in this building who it scared, either.

Kali, Queen of Kitteh

Liger, sweet, if you will go down to the thread below this one, you will find a link to said food blog.

No, seriously, I wants and needs all the comments/critiques/suggestions on it all I like. But don't leave them here.

I like weird sweet/savory foods. I used to think that I wouldn't, but now I do. F'r example: bleu cheeses eaten simultaneously with figs or apples or pears. Reeeal delicious.

Gah! Me too. I just misread your post as "What cloverfield links?"

Kali, Queen of Kitteh

Hector Lima hipped me to the delayed monster scream after so and so many minutes. But the whole thing plays on a sort of pause of "Shit. This ain't never gonna happen. Asshole was fulla shit." and then next you know, it comes out of nowhere and your skin crawls.

Brilliant.

Thanks!

Actually, blue cheese with fruit sounds pretty tasty. Fish with cinnamon raisin doesn't for some reason.

See, cinnamon and whitefish? That might scare me off. But, salmon? I have this theory. Okeh, it's not a theory so much as morbid curiosity. Why always plain bagels? Maybe one with some onion. But nothing further?

This is how I ended up discovering the glory of putting chocolate chips into the cornbread mix.

And how I worked out why peanuts and hotdogs don't combine well, despite shared saltiness.

Sometimes you have to be a testdummy for the good of the future.

Then again, maybe it's all this talk of secret undersea Slusho ingredients that's got me all "ewww, fish!"

Kali, Queen of Kitteh
02:25 / 15.12.07
Maybe this doesn't fall under the same category, but would you like to be sent some banana bread with chocolate chips and a cinnamon streusel crust? I'm doing homebaked goodies instead of bought presents for X-mas.
