It just hit me that, after the humans in his favorite planet - us - wiped themselves out in a nuclear holocaust*, God may have caused the Cylons to destroy to the 12 Colonies to force them all to join forces and come to Earth and repopulate the place.

All this has happened before... Caprica was populated by the descendents of Earth, who fled there under exactly the same circumstances as what we're seeing now.

That was either a brilliant episode or an appalling one, I've no idea which. Much like this series so far really, moments of utter amazingness followed by bone-crushing stupidity. I just wish we didn't have to wait until next year to finish it off...

If Earth is unpopulated, how did Starbuck's Raider come to be so shiny and clean?

That episode was seriously not as good as last week's, but I'm glad Earth is a bombsite. I reckon they're gonna have to head back to the twelve colonies. At least the Cylons rebuilt New Caprica. Somehow I can't see the centurions bothering to plant nice little trees this time.

I still believe in the "As Yet Hidden Third Faction" theory as driving the "higher power" aspects of the show: Starbuck being saved, New Viper, Head Six/Baltar, Opera House visions, etc., etc.

The original show had a non-Cylon, non-Human race of beings... I'm guessing they will be thread that holds all the odd, unexplainable events together.
