No, I just had a sudden urge to see if I could find any Lawnmower Man/Johnny 5 slashfic.

I think that robot ninja from The Transformers cartoon was totally hot.

WOw, somebody on the Colbert Report research staff has read their Silmarillion.

Aw, I love you guys! Robot/human love didn't scare you off after all!

Keggers- What's that about Colbert? I've got this week's episodes TiVoed, but feel free to spoil.

Well, not to get into specifics but he corrects another newscasts missuse of a Lord of The Rings painting of a Balrog as Satan, used in conjunction to the whole 6/6/06 bruhaha. He compares/contrasts them and much geekish laughter was had by all. (me)

I'll be watching that one tomorrow.

Right now I'm revisiting Ultimate Spider-Man, and, against all odds, I really like it. I'm a notorious Bendis-hater, but this shit is just pure superhero goodness. Does that kill my 'lith cred?

Saint Keggers
04:04 / 08.06.06
Well Im not one to judge anyone on comic based lith cred. The only comics I ever collected were Punisher, Invisibles and Nomad.

Ultimate Spidey, is that the one with the red and gold suit with the extra arms? I so thought that look was horrid, especially the eyes. They looked too much like some type of knights visor.

Im just waiting for Ultimate Howard The Duck

Sorry Keggers, that's normal Spider-Man. It's such a horrid costume, too.

I'm watching a personal favorite right now, the musical "Reefer Madness!". I wish pot really would make you halucenate in crazy cartoon song and dance numbers.

Jake, Colossus of Clout
04:10 / 08.06.06
No, no, that's the current "traditional continuity" Spidey comics. Which I actually slogged through to keep up with this "Civil War" nonsense. They were really, really bad.

Ultimate Spidey is the Bendis-penned series that launched the whole Ultimate line about six years back. It's surprisingly decent, if a bit clunky. I used to have the first three trades, but I lost those in one of the couple of robberies I've endured recently, so I downloaded the whole series via Bittorrent, and have been pleasantly surprised.

The only thing pot does to me is give me a headache. I feel like I'm missing out on something.

Saint Keggers
04:15 / 08.06.06
If I ever get the rich* Im going to lauch a line of comics where people keep the same damn costume and dont have 30 gabillion dimensions/ultraverses/Boby in the shower explanations to make new stories or correct the missteps in the regualr continuum.

*Rich = enough cash that I can throw money at such a bound to fail endevour without batting an eyelash.

You certainly are. I used to be so into the cronic that I got cranky if I was out, but these days I just use it as an enhancement for certain things. I really enjoy smoking some cron and watching a few episodes of Ghost in the Shell, for example, or reading some Paul Pope, or playing a sweet video game like Fallout 2. The downside is that I really hate having to engage in human interaction while I'm blazed. My SO always wants to chat when she gets high, but I just want to focus on whatever it is I'm doing, so that leads to a bit of weirdness.

04:22 / 08.06.06
Bah. For right nowI think I'll stick to booze. Its one of the few things that get me immeadiatly intouch with my emotions that I usually dont deal with. Ofcourse, when I over do it.. WW3.

Jake, Colossus of Clout
04:27 / 08.06.06
Oh, no question, booze is WAY BETTER. I would never dispute that. You're talking to a dude who used to drink with the Modern Drunkard guys in Denver. The weed just makes me want to geek out with a comic, video game, anime, etc... It makes alone time much sweeter, whereas alcohol makes social time better. Actually, fuck that, alcohol makes alone time better, too. Cron is clearly the secondary chemical.

04:55 / 08.06.06
The fuck is everybody?

I don't care what anyone says, Ultimate Spidey is tight. The bit where Peter is trying to get hired at the Bugle and Aunt May makes him put Jonah Jameson on the phone is ace. You can just imagine her giving him the business, even though there's no dialogue.

Jake, Colossus of Clout

Damn. Mass exodus, apparently. G'night, all.

Well I'm here. Watching Big Brother, drinking beer, and trying to decide whether I should watch a zombie film or play Condemned on the PC.

After I've walked the dog, obviously.

Evil Scientist
20:43 / 08.06.06
Depends which zombie film really.

Either Day or Land of the Dead... I've seen them both a million times, so I'm easy, really. Bought them both yesterday (I already had Land on a bootleg, but I wanted the extra stuff like Simon Pegg meeting George Romero... I also already had Day, but it's the new edition of it, and I'm a sucker for Romero stuff).

Day is clearly the better movie of the two, but I like Land more each time I see it.

Hey all.
You know I think the last time I saw a Romero movie was back in the days of renting them on Betamax. Since then its been Shaun and 28 Days.

Evil Scientist

Nothing beats that opening scene in Day of the Dead.

Helloooooooooooo!

I really liked Land, although it wasn't a patch on the first three.

Reminds me though, I need to buy it.

There's a terrific commentary on the Dawn dvd I've got by Tom Savini. Funny funny guy.

Condemned sure is a creepy game!

I think maybe Land. Still not sure though. I may just eat some food then go to bed.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
22:31 / 08.06.06
Yeah, food then bed seems good, actually. It occurs to me that a) it's my week off, and b) it's very very sunny during the day at the moment. From these I conclude c) it's a bit of a waste sleeping in until midday every day.

Anyone up?

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy

For the moment. Debating ficsuit names.

Jake, Colossus of Clout
05:53 / 10.06.06
What are you leaning towards?

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
06:02 / 10.06.06
The Fall River Axe Papers, based on one of my favourite short stories (about Lizzie Borden).

Or. I dunno. The Darling Monsieur Papier.

Jake, Colossus of Clout
06:09 / 10.06.06
Fall River Axe Papers is my vote. One of my crazy drunk college buddies was from there, so I'm biased.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
06:11 / 10.06.06
Dunners.

Jake, Colossus of Clout
06:15 / 10.06.06
Nice one.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
06:22 / 10.06.06
If you get a chance, read the story. "The Fall River Axe Murders," by Angela Carter, in her collection Black Venus. The hours leading up to the murders, in an empty house.

Jake, Colossus of Clout
06:28 / 10.06.06
I certainly will. I've read a bit about it, and my SO loves the Borden story, so I'll pass it on, as well.

What are you up to?

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
06:37 / 10.06.06
I just bloggeded. Thinking of going to bed, as I need to get up in the morning and be functional enough to go to bed.

Tempted to make myself a baked potato before bed, but this could lead to strange and frightening dreams.

Jake, Colossus of Clout
07:08 / 10.06.06
Well, that would be bad. Sleep well!
