Sounds creepy. I'm drinking Geary's Summer Ale right now.

Do you have that up in your part of Canada, Keggers? It's my favorite summer ale of all time. Actually, all of their seasonals are the biz. And Geary's has the best labels, as they have a contest each season for Maine artists to submit bottle/packaging designs. The winner gets their art on the beer for one season, plus a pile of cash and a bunch of beer or something. Geary's owns.

It's the first I've heard of it but I will look for it next time I head out for beer.

The current Summer Ale has a navy and lime green color scheme. It's hard to miss. Take a pass on anything but their seasonals and the pale ale, though.

Dovetailed- Who's drinking what? Tell me you aren't drinking the Johnny Walker...

I am the Johnny Walker's boy. Solely on the recommendation of a friend though, so blame him. I am quite enjoying it; maybe that's just the wine talking...

Im still looking around for a bottle of Alberta's Premium whisky. Its supposed to be quite good.

I have a serious hate-on for blended Scotch. Always have. It's single-malt only in the Gnosis household. You should check out some single-malts if you're enjoying the JW. I recommend Glenmorangie and Laphroig as good Scotch that's readily available. Seriously, the difference between a blended and a good single-malt is like a canned domestic and a good micro-brew. No contest. /booze rant

Laphroig is excellent. I have never spent the money on anything older the 12 year because it would be a waste on my unrefined pallet.

I have become a fan of Bourbons lately myself though.

I am a fan of Isle of Jura single malt personally, but I can't say that, in all honesty, I am ever usually sober enough, at the point of whiskey drinking, to note the difference.

I'm into the Red Stripe at the moment. Just been playing Condemned. I've come to the conclusion I'm actually quite shit at beating people to death with bits of piping. Which is actually quite a reassuring thing to learn about oneself.

The Glenmorangie 18-year is fantastic, and I believe it's under $60, or used to be. You can get a lot of 15-years for $35-$50, too, I believe.

The thing about good single-malt Scotch, for me, is that it's not a "get wasted" drink, it's a sipping drink, so I don't balk at paying higher prices, as it will last longer than my average bottle of bourbon or gin.

The best cheap domestic whiskey is Jim Beam Rye (the yellow label). It's like $13 a fifth and it's delicious. Never, under any circumstances, buy Jack Daniels. Ever. They're scum.

Yellow label is quite rare in these lands; white and black show up, but generally JD is the reliable - "I'm gonna be there when you need me" drink...

Jake, Colossus of Clout

The other Beams are okay, but the yellow shines for it's price. It has a real satisfactory bite to it, and a much cleaner finish than the others. JD is scum because they changed their recipe and made their whiskey less potent. Over the last ten years or so JD has gone from 90 proof, to 86 proof, to 80 proof. And they claim that they use the same old recipe. Well, actually, you don't, because the original recipe is for 90-proof bourbon. Scum, I tell you!!!

Into the realms of Pink Floyd... For me at least, Nik on the other hand has become lost in the beauty of Elijah; his new best friend.

Pink Floyd I know. Elijah I do not.

Still here, still drinking wonderful beer.

Just checked out the new Ann Coulter thread, for my sins. Ick.

Just hearing the things she says makes me question humanity as a whole. She's so bigoted and mean-spirited, but yet so popular. WHY!?

Am I a bad person for finding her attractive on the outside? Or a good person for KNOWING WITHOUT A SHADOW OF A DOUBT that she is clearly the SPAWN OF SATAN???

It's a tricky one, I know...

Big Brother's doing my head in. I think I'll watch a horror movie. I'm thinking maybe the Devil Rides Out... haven't seen it in YEARS... though I did just buy both Land and Day of the Dead... plus I've just borrowed a Japanese nunsploitation horror flick off a guy at work... but I think I'm too drunk to deal with subtitles. Ah, the agony of choice.

Fuck it. Devil Rides Out. Christopher Lee can make EVERYTHING better.

Oh yeah? I'd like to see him recite what Ann Coulter is spewing!

It's still be bullshit, but the intonation would be MUCH better. And he'd be SUPPOSED to be the bad guy, too.

Life would be simpler, really, if Christopher Lee was just the Bad Guy all the time.

Who are all these people you keep referring to?

Drinking buddies! Obviously. Mikey is a dolorous historian who is obsessed with the woman he never got; he is a beautiful man. And Nik, well, Nik is just Nik; punk, housemate, sex-god.

Strong truth!

I love actors who were born to be villians. Christopher Walken, especially.

I want to go to bed. I have work in..six hours, yet the combined lure of Big Brother Live (even if it is just Imogen sitting in the loo) and the Big Brother thread is too strong to resist.

How many hours of sleep do we need anyway?

He played the bad guy in the second Riddick movie. Also played the bad guy in The Storm Of The Century ( I think that was the title) tv miniseries by Stephen King and played the bad guy in the comedy The Wrong Guy, which you must watch.
