I'd like to suggest that, rather than not having this forum out of a desire to protect people from trolling or assholes of other cuts, having it and clearly establishing it as separate from the other forums would make it easier to moderate based on the kind of civility you'd have to have to keep it going.
Having just made a sequence of brain-nulling posts this morning, from racial issues to sexual, I realized the racial stuff could pretty much be defended if someone popped in and was just a total jerk, but sexual abuse in the Temple forum? If someone came in and carefully worded things or couched them in a 'magickal' context (the 'it's my religion, okeh' defense), it would be very hard to say the violated the terms of that forum. If they did so in a sex and relationship forum, which would, to a degree, have to be predicated on a severe level of civility, it might actually be easier to identify transgressions/attacks.
I know it's not likely to happen any time soon, if it even does happen, but I figured I'd put that idea out in the open before I forgot about it. Because by the time we become www.sibeliangardens.com or whatever in a year or two, I will have, most likely, forgotten. |
